Movies on TV

Returning to Nine, after 10 aired it a few times a year or so back. Licenced by Roadshow.

Should rate very well, considering what The Castle did a few weeks ago.

Slightly off-topic but I’m LOVING the retro that CBS is serving up on Sunday nights at the moment

Ah, back to the old Sunday night flick! I read an article on it saying CBS are utilising Paramount’s library (as both are owned by Viacom).

Interesting that CBS still “edited for comtent”, seeing as “TV-14” is like-for-like with our “M” (and it’s M unedited). I knew FTA was tightly controlled in the US, but that gives our ACMA closely guarded FTA a run for its money!

Seven have been doing a bit of that here this year, to some success or hit/miss.

Free to air is way more tightly controlled over there by the FCC. It’s a stupid country with all its alleged freedoms and rights. They can go and shoot people with their endless guns and get away with the most disgusting behavior yet they can’t say fuck on free to air tv. Priorities are completely whacked.

Looking at the EPG for this week, it looks like How to Train your Dragon is airing on 10 Peach this Saturday at 6pm.

Not sure the significance? Peach have/are running several movies this week in primetime.

I think the significance is that it’s been some time since 10 Peach regularly (or any 10 channel) has been airing movies, and that it’s unusual for them to be running a family one at 6pm on a Saturday.

FTA premiere. From their 20C Fox output. Frances McDormand won another Academy Award for this performance, Sam Rockwell won for Best Supporting Actor too. The movie was critically lauded.

The timeslot is questionable however.

FTA premiere, distributed and co-produced by Fox Searchlight Pictures. Frances McDormand won an Academy Award, an BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award for best lead actress, while the film also won the Golden Globe Award and the BAFTA Award for Best Picture.

Omg! Johnson and I posted the same thing at the same time :joy: Mods will laugh their ass off.

Not one, but two posts on the movie’s distributor. We are truly #blessed.

Presuming it was some sort of scheduled post/RSS error on your parts.
