I hadn’t seen Air Force One (in full) for many years must have been 20 or so ? until I got the 4K version from Amazon late last year. I wouldn’t say it’s THAT good, yes iconic in a way… but Harrison Ford can make most average movies look good. For me it’s kinda like the mid 2000’s movie - Snakes on a Plane in terms of cult following (yes wild comparison I know lol).
Another Harrison Ford movie - The Fugitive is another film that (like the Shawshank Redemption for example) I had seen on FTA tv many times over the years… I then went several (almost DECADES) years without watching it at all… once again I got the 4K version when it was released and it’s once again a favourite film to watch from time to time.
I haven’t done a “see whats on FTA… and let it dictate what I watch from my personal collection” session in a while. Although I occasionally eee something on and tune in (despite not liking the commercials).
Unfortunately we won’t get that in Australia, nor any other new releases or restorations/re-masters in physical form, at least officially (with Disney ceasing manufacturing including Fox titles in this territory a couple of years ago - Guardians 3 was the last).
This would be a Sony North America or Disney UK 4K yeah?
Agreed.
Also a personal favourite and have the old DVD around (watched many a time way back when) and still seems to come on TV regularly with rights frequently bouncing around, wouldn’t be surprised if this is a more protected/premium title from Paramount.
Interesting you mention it, currently doing the rounds on Netflix here this week (Top 3 - was No. 3 yesterday).
edit
Just realised I was thinking of “Patriot Games”, whoops
But exactly the same as above goes for that too, except it’s Warners.

Still annoys me when they air this as part of the marathon, it is not and never has been part of the official franchise. Just like the original Casino Royale.
Despite MGM conveniently happening to now own all of them anyway. Following their purchase of NSNA from its producer’s estate at the end of 1997 and the OG CR from Sony after the Kevin McClory (the co-writer, credited producer of Thunderball and EP of NSNA who had an infamous legal spat with Danjaq/EON in the 60s) legal issues with MGM and Sony in 1999.

I’m guessing the only reason Nine have opted for 9Go! instead of the usual 9Gem this time is due to the network swimming commitments on the latter, so the expensive and high rating movie marathon maintains a consistent prime time slot?
It was strange last night though seeing 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever on the very young skewing Go! vs Bride Wars & Sex and the City 2 on the very old skewing Gem (which otherwise might’ve been main channel without Rugby Union on).
