Herald Sun reports late tonight that Qatar Airways has cancelled its hospitality events at the Australian Grand Prix, which began today. Qatar Airways is the global partner and official airline of Formula 1 and also naming rights sponsor of the Melbourne race.

The airline has a premium corporate suite in the Paddock Club but has called some guests saying it would be inappropriate to host celebrations while flights are cancelled and some people remain in Doha unable to fly.

The decision has been taken “in light of the situation and out of respect for those impacted”, according to a Qatar spokesperson.

“Due to the ongoing closure of Qatari airspace and the temporary suspension of Qatar Airways’ flight operations, the airline has postponed its scheduled media and partner events in Melbourne this weekend.”

Bad start for him but luckily it was quickly resolved.

One session does not a Grand Prix Weekend make.

Brodie Kostecki won back-to-back Supercars races at Albert Park yesterday.

For the first time, highlights from the Supercars Supersprint at Albert Park are now available on Supercars’ YouTube channel.

Shittest result. Can’t stand George Russell. Probably the most cringiest driver on the grid. He’s such a douchebag. Would’ve preferred virtually anyone else on pole: even Norris.

Lando is right there.

Bloody impressed by Antonelli (with a broken car) and Hadjar though.

Oscar Piastri will start 5th on the grid.

Yes Lando is bad but not as bad as George,

Kimi and Isack were tremendous. I think Leclerc underperformed and I’ve got nothing to say about Max. So shocked. Not sure if it was driver error or car failure.

I find it annoying that he is very quick to blame others for things which are clearly his mistake. The incident in the pit lane yesterday pretty much summed it up.

He has had to deal with some pretty average machinery in his F1 career though, so he has probably earned a bit of success.

Can’t say I’m overly impressed with the new F1 cars. It’s like they spend half the track going flat out and the other half coasting in regen mode….

I reckon 2/3 of the field will be DNF tomorrow.

Alex Dunne doing his best to never get an F1 drive. What a knob.

Results of the F3 and F2 feature races. 3 time penalties, 3 DNFs in each of them.

I dont know about that. Have you seen Westrrn Sydney dtivers?

FARK

Fucking disaster for the GP and for Australia
