Mother and Son (2023)

It seems odd that they want to go for more risque storylines for some sort of shock value. Looks like there is going to be more of it in a couple of weeks, based on the preview synopsis. :weary:

The show from what I saw on Gogglebox is very “woke” . They even hiring Tik Tok stars as one of the kids (from the page Ben and Zara )

Does hiring a star from Tik Tok make it more “woke”?

I don’t know ? Maybe they are trying to appeal to young people with this show?

If the aim is to attract younger viewers, I’d say they’ve still got a way to go.

Has anyone continued watching this?

Do we think its coming back?

I have not seen it beyond episode one.

Yeh same. Although I didn’t finish the first ep.

Yes. It gets worse every week.

It doesn’t deserve a second season but if ratings don’t drop then it might come back.

I have enjoyed it enough to watch it all on iview but like so many reboots no way it could live up to the original.

Someone left a cute message on the fine print on the TV from tonight’s episode

The season final was probably their strongest episode, Jean Kittson was great!

I have to agree with you there. The final was the strongest episode of this season (from what was an underperforming season).

Jean Kittson was great in this episode too.

If it gets renewed they need more Jean and less Robbie.

I went past the Mother and Son house this morning (at Sydney’s Dolls Point). They have started filming the second season. They were doing some interior shots of the house this morning. There was a tv truck in front of the house with some television equipment in it. Soon after taking picture two, there was a camera operator filming from the driveway into the house (where the pot plants in the window seal is). Pic 3 is the tea and coffee machine. Which the crew was using afterwards. Pic 4 of another TV truck is in the side street.

I did not see any actors there while walking past. And no traffic controllers for any filming in the front yard.
