Nine claimed Monday by three points roughly even with the previous week. However, Seven’s refreshed line-up was down two and its lowest Monday share since July. ABC was got a big boost with its best Monday since June while 10 and SBS were up slightly.

The Block had another Monday reveal that was up 40k on the previous, though underperforming compared to this season’s Sunday reveal shows.

Seven launched a new season of SAS Australia to 464,000. That was equal to the 2022 season launch that was in February against Married at First Sight but below the 2021 season that premiered to 647,000 later in the year.

10’s Masked Singer was down slightly from the previous Monday while Have You Been Paying Attention? improved by 40,000 to make the top 10 and win its timeslot. It was an easy winner against Missing Persons Investigation on Nine and The Rookie on Seven both down slightly.

Meanwhile, ABC’s Australian Story was up 60,000 while Media Watch and Four Corners were steady. Later, Q+A was up 45,000 on the previous week to one if its better recent results.

Earlier, Seven got some big news numbers and won all markets at 6pm, to be 170,000 ahead of Nine’s bulletin. At 7pm Home and Away had its best audience in eight weeks to top 500,000 while the afternoon’s The Chase was over 500,000 for the first time in two weeks.

In consideration of today’s media landscape and the ratings of premiere shows this year, it’s not terrible but Seven would certainly be hoping for better.

The FTA premiere of The Betoota Advocate Presents missed the top 20. The figures don’t look too bad considering all episodes have been available on Paramount+ since June, but I think they can go higher if 10 plays a few more promos during The Masked Singer and HYBPA.

Especially in Melbourne where the bulletin increased by 23,000 from the first half to second half. Must be all the AFL trade news.

  • TODAY was the breakfast program of choice with Total People and all key demos in Melbourne
  • TODAY recorded a Live BVOD Audience of 27,000
  • TODAY Extra was a timeslot winner with Total People and all key demos in Brisbane

It looks like nearly half of the ABC audience switched off when Q and A comes on.

It looks like every channel loses more than half its audience after 9.30pm compared to the previous timeslot. Look at Have You Been Paying Attention at 549,000. More than half the audience switched off for The Betoota Advocate.

No I don’t. Sky News is not the be all and end all. Most viewers in Australia are not watching Sky News every night. Their audience share is miniscule in terms of total viewers.

Speaking of miniscule audiences, I wonder when Ten will announce what they are going to do with the 6.30 Project for next year because surely they can’t continue with those figures in 2024?

God you get so boring with your broken record comments! We all get your right wing views and love of Sky News and we know you hate the Project and Q+A. I as a former viewer of Q+A I believe it’s past its use by date and has been since Tony Jones left but we don’t need to hear it from you every week. I hate Sky News, ACA and have very little love for 7 and 9’s 6pm news and don’t understand why anybody watches but I don’t come in here every day/week with snide comments. Come back with something constructive please.
