The Block was the top entertainment show of the day with the start of Kitchen Week attracting over 1.2 million, to be down 30k from the previous Monday. That was still well clear of the competition that saw My Kitchen Rules the closest with a season-high 886k.
Meanwhile, a new batch of celebrities were racing in The Amazing Race season debut on 10 rating 684k. That was 80k higher than Survivor achieved the previous Monday and compared to the previous season’s premiere episode that had 699k. Over on ABC, Australian Story made the top 10, down 30k to 734k while on SBS Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes struggled with just 94k.
At 9pm Have You Been Paying Attention? hosted by Ed Kavalee was steady topping 700k for the second consecutive week. Four Corners was next best with 560k, lifting to 583k for Media Watch; both improved week-on-week. The Rookie on Seven got a small bump to 418k while 100% Footy in Sydney and Brisbane had 225k on Nine while Footy Classified in AFL markets had 218k.
Planet America continued to perform well while 10 News Late in a 10pm slot had a 2025-high rating of 315k.
The morning’s coverage of the Supreme Court Sentencing was reflected in the morning show results that included The Morning Show with 372k and Today Extra with 259k. Both results were well above normal, but the numbers may need to be adjusted including for breakfast TV where Sunrise was extended. ABC Mornings was on 143k and 10’s coverage 62k.
It was a close contest at 6pm that saw Nine News win by 40k. That followed Tipping Point winning at 5pm by 210k. Deal OR No Deal at 7pm had 321k after 10 News+ managed 156k. Earlier, Sunrise had a 100k win over Today.
The new season launch of The Amazing Race Australia did OK against tough competition.
