Mock Schedules

I think 10 Peach should go down the path of 9GO where kids/teen/youth programming occupy the slots of most of the day until about 6pm/6.30 when Neighbours kick in. Overseas realities to fill the rest of the primetime slots like Love Island US or something like that.

Sports tonight is a dud sadly, until 10 gets hold of some worthy sports. Even then I don’t think Sports Tonight would have a chance at today’s TV landscape.

Why is everyone infatuated with Survivor three days a week. I think Monday-Tuesday is perfectly fine. The show has shown it doesn’t rate on a Sunday and Thursday would kill the show by putting it against the US version.

#941

Why does 10 need sport for Sports Tonight to work? Sadly, they have ruined the format however if it returns to its roots with a half-hour program recapping the day in sport around the world, I see no problem.

#942

Because with the way the media landscape has evolved, you can get scores and analysis immediately after the games with Fox and other networks hosting comprehensive post-game analysis and entertainment. Sports Tonight just cannot compete in that category since 10 does not have any of those big sports.

The only way it might (possibly) work is, as you say, if it’s a pure sports news bulletin.

I agree with you Bold statement. But you’re Peach idea I do not. I think 10 need to look at providing Peach with New content. This is what I would do:

  • Big Brother *15 Week Run.
  • The Gay Bachelor
  • Bachelor Pad
  • Ex on the Beach
  • Another shot at an Australian version of Geordie Shore (done properly this time)
  • A new entertainment tonight program hosted by Angela Bishop 5 nights a week.
  • Game shows from the US or UK.

I would even considering putting Bachelor in Paradise as a Peach exclusive when 10 have enough content on their main channel.

In terms of where I would air them. I would probably put the show on at 6:30 every night then with a replay at 8:30/9:00 to stay away from the stripped reality on 10.

“When 10 have enough content on their main channel”

First run Graham Norton Show or encore? If first run it offers itself as a post 9:30pm filler should one be required during the week

#946

First run is my thoughts.

#947

Given the recent axings of Family Feud and Pointless, perhaps Ten could try the post-7:30pm strategy. Select 4 game shows and run them all year round, 13 weeks (65 episodes each).

If reports are right, Ten has the rights to Celebrity Name Game, Ten previously had the rights to Family Feud, so if Ten looked at 2 different formats to show as the other 2 game shows (perhaps 2 of the following - Perfect Match, Sale Of The Century, Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy, Have A Go, Press Your Luck). Given the main channel is primarily programmed nationally, there is no need for showing re-runs in December/January… retain first run programming all year round until at least 9:30pm each night

This would hopefully reduce viewer fatigue.

#948

Reports are right. They have already announced it will be in the 6pm slot.

I know this was almost 30 years ago (Melbourne TV Listings: Saturday, November 11, 1989), but I am still puzzled as to why Ten doesnt do like Nine did with MTV and screen on Friday and Saturday night on 10Peach. They could screen encores of it at 9am on Saturday and Sunday mornings (in a similar slot to that occupied by Video Hits)

My proposed 6am to 5pm schedule on Ten (main channel)
6:00am The Talk
7:00am Ten Morning News First- state based editions (assuming Ten decided to turn the 5pm edition of Ten News First to a national bulletin with a 6pm or 6:30pm supplementary State editions, otherwise national bulletin)
8:00am Studio 10 - retain same format mix of entertainment/infomercials
11:00am Tens Kitchen (11:01am The Cooks Pantry 11:30am Good Chef Bad Chef)
12:00pm Dr Phil
1:00pm Ten Daily - News based program
2:00pm Reality encore of 7:30pm program (at this stage retaining a main channel afternoon slot for reality with possibility of moving to 10Peach later in year or in 2020, possibly replace with a Game Show bloc - of Ten didnt want to produce their own versions, the US editions of Lets Make A Deal and The Price Is Right could screen between 2pm and 4pm)
3:00pm Neighbours (or Alive And Cooking if the mock schedule proposed by @turdall as adopted)
3:30pm ET
4:00pm Judge Judy
4:30pm Bold And The Beautiful

#953

I don’t think that was me.

I wouldnt keep Bold And The Beautiful and evening game show on the main channel. This would be even more the case if the game show moved to 10Peach and Ten was to launch a 2 and half hours news/current affairs fest between 5pm and 7:30pm.

The alternative to news would be a 1 hour program that features news updates and either music (like on the radio) or a mix of music and light entertainments (possibly even inserts from features on other network 10 entertainment/infotainment programs). Something relatively cheap, but not encores.
