It should be noted that the latter’s new “New Alternative” format won’t be fully known until the next survey.

2DayFM beating 2GB’s Deborah Knight in Afternoons. Pretty good numbers for 2Day.

I hope Triple M Perth does better next survey. They really deserve it - and good move going against some Nova93.7 listeners with their new format.

Also, noticeable that K&J have toppled Ben Fordham. Last time KIIS1065 beat 2GB they made a big deal about this.

3AW once again dominated Melbourne ratings, although it dropped 1% or more in drive (which included Sportsday before it moved to SEN - it will be reflected in the next survey) and nights.

Gold’s Christian O’Connell was the only commercial FM show to post an increase at breakfast, as its rivals all lost ground.

Nova will be a bit concerned with Chrissie, Sam and Browny (in their second last survey) dropping 1.0 and Kate, Tim and Joel dropping 1.1 from previous survey, with Kate Ritchie taking the rest of the year off.

Nova continues to do well at Breakfast and Drive but just dies in Mornings and starts to recover in the Afternoon. If this isn’t an indication of their stale and repetitive playlist, then I don’t know how much clearer it can be made to them.

Also, 2Day beat Nova in mornings, and the former wasn’t far behind the latter in afternoons.

In Melbourne, Fox is well ahead of Nova (& KIIS) during the day, same for B105 in Brisbane.

If Nova96.9 didn’t have Fitzy & Wippa or Drive, they’d be screwed based on their current playlist alone.

Nova96.9 needs to be edgier & ballsy and do what Triple M Perth have done (minus the 80s rock).

4BH edged up, closing in on 4BC at breakfast - can it overtake its stablemate… A drop for 4BC’s breakfast that really is better suited to 4BH with 4BH up. Kiss 97.3 looking worse each survey lately. slipping further behind the other FMs - can one of the AMs beat it, that would be ironic. And some good news for ABC Brisbane especially at breakfast.

I think it’s becoming clearer that Brisbane prefers classic hits music all day, than their favourite brekkie show & then having to switch over at 9am.

Sorry 4BC, you can’t have your cake & eat it too. But still, an improvement from prior to having LG&M at 4BC.

Nine’s radio stations lead the way

Nine’s radio stations have again led the way in the latest radio ratings, posting wins in Sydney and Melbourne, and big audience increases in Brisbane and Perth.

GfK Survey 7 of 2022 shows Sydney’s 2GB is the city’s No. 1 station with a share of 11.6, while Melbourne’s 3AW recorded a winning share of 13.7 (up 0.3).

Brisbane’s 4BC keeps growing share to an 8.2, while Perth’s 6PR recorded the biggest share increase of any station in that market (up 1.3) with an 8.5.

In the breakfast slot, 3AW’s ACRA award-winning duo, Ross & Russ soared 1.2 share points to 21.4.

2GB’s Ben Fordham recorded a 14.8, while 4BC’s Laurel, Gary and Mark achieved a 10.8 share, and 6PR’s Gareth Parker posted a share of 11.2 (up 1.5).

In the morning time slot, 2GB’s Ray Hadley achieved his 145th consecutive survey win with a share of 13.3 in Sydney and 9.4 in Brisbane. 3AW’s Neil Mitchell was also a dominant No. 1 with a share of 16.6 (up 0.4).

Nine Radio’s Head of Content Greg Byrnes said: “We’re so grateful to our listeners for their loyalty. The trend to live and local radio is clear, with our stations leading in share and maintaining record cumulative audience. 2GB and 3AW are number one in Sydney and Melbourne and we’re recording unprecedented numbers on 4BC and 6PR.”

Very good point, if history is to repeat its self they will just go more throwback heavy, and when the ratings decline even further go back to what they are doing now. In other words clueless.

Anyway congratulations to 2day fm for their best results in years, and KIIS is an unstoppable force in Sydney.

The only way forward for Nova 96.9, Nova 100, and Nova 106.9 is Sounds Different. Nothing else will change the results in these highly competitive congested markets.

The last time 2Day did this well was back in early 2019, when the station peaked at 6% in S2/2019. In that same survey, Nova was only 0.6% ahead of 2Day.

Back to the current survey…

It’s quite interesting to see the station top the 40-54s with 15.6%, 3.3% ahead of traditional demo leader WS.

And it’s worth noting to see 2Day outrate KIIS & 2UE in the 55-64s.

Was the new Triple M Perth format in place for the full survey period?

Their biggest increase in this survey was in the 40-54’s.

Only for the 2nd half of this survey.

It will be interesting to see what next Survey brings for 6MMM, will they loose what they gained in 40-54 and gain some in the younger 24-39’s???

Time for 2GB to replaced Ben Fordham with someone else, preferably more nuttier :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

2Day also ahead of 2MMM, both overall and in breakfast.

4BH is already beating 4BC. It’s only a matter of time before it beats 97.3
