ADELAIDE
Triple M - largest share since S4/2004
PERTH
96FM - largest share since S4/2002

Looks like Nova will never be able to catch up to KIIS.

Big result for KIIS 106.5 in Sydney number one in Breakfast and number one overall. It looks like Sarah leaving Nova Breakfast, and Kate joining the show has had no impact on the ratings so far, but interestingly KiIS ratings have exploded in both Breakfast and total share for the station since.

Great result for 96fm in Perth beating Nova 93.7 in mornings and afternoons. KIIS in the Brisbane has problems, ARN missed a golden opportunity to move it to the Pure Gold network after the exit of 4KQ.

No chance they have lost all their younger audience to KIIS.
That is the lowest 10-17 share I have ever seen for the station.

3AW afternoons recorded a rise of 0.9 in the latest survey, which turns out to be the last involving host Dee Dee Dunleavy. Denis Walter suffered a big drop of 3.4.

Fox, Gold, KIIS, Triple M and Nova all lost ground in breakfast.

Another bad result for ABC Melbourne, although it posted a small gain in breakfast.

In terms of 10-17 share, Gold made the biggest gain (2.4) but still trailed behind Fox, KIIS and Nova.

To make matters worse, it was also beaten not only by its sister station Smooth, but also by 2Day & 2MMM.

Basically KIIS owns the Hot AC / CHR, 2day fm have found their niche, basically Nova is now the redundant one now in Sydney with their current format.

Poor result for 4BC losing ground in all timeslot and behind ABC at breakfast now. SENQ still looking dismal, halving its audience share.

They sure did. Pure Gold 97.3 or Smooth 97.3 would be totally dominating Brisbane right now. Instead it’s a riduculous situation with 3 Hot AC/CHR stations and 1 bogan talk/sport/flogged hits station on FM. KIIS 97.3 is a completely miserable station with sobbin’ Robyn for breakfast and a disjointed format for the rest of the day featuring only the lamest overplayed hits from the past and safest new music.

It makes their decision to decline to renew Dee Dee’s contract even more puzzling.

Would be shocked if there’s not more to the story than what we know.

KIIS in Sydney have smashed it out of the park. I love the 11.3% share they have with 55 - 64 year olds - they did better than 2GB in that demographic.

KIIS was No.1 with the 10 - 17, 18 - 24, 25 - 39 and 40 - 54 year old demos. In a crowded market Kyle and Jackie O as well as the music on KIIS are cutting through. Quite an achievement.

I don’t think 2SM or Triple M at their peak ever came first in so many different demos.

In comments typical of his broadcasting style, Sandilands attributed the latest results to his on-air partner’s physical appearance.

“I feel that more people are listening because Jackie’s lost all that fat and she is, like, totally rootable again,” he told the show’s audience, while Jackie O laughed encouragingly.

“That’s brought all the fringe people that thought, ‘I wouldn’t bang that, I’ll go and listen to Nova’, and then they’ve thought, ‘Well they’re unrootable’, they’ve come back … Jackie is hot. I thank you for losing all that blubber and assisting the ratings to spike.”

Charming as ever.

I’ve said it before. I don’t understand how people find that acceptable or entertaining.

You need to hear the rubbish on the other FM stations at breakfast, particularly Nova, MMM and 2DayFM to understand why KIIS rates.

Kyle and Jackie don’t appear to be reading from a script and the attempts of one of the cohosts to try and moderate the other is an ongoing entertaining struggle - very different to the FM alternatives that involve continuous bursts of uncontrollable laughter every 30 seconds for 4 hours.

Both options sound bad, but I personally find things like what was said in that quote from Kyle offensive. Calling a woman rootable is just offensive and vile. People who listen to this are complicit.
