Google Play has always just said “coming soon” with no date
On my android google play says “coming soon” as well
Do we think Max is good value? I know they have introductory offers currently.
We probably can’t answer this until its been out for a week or 2. My bias answer is always yes it will be but tbf you won’t know until you try it. Normally when ever a new streaming service comes out I wait a few weeks then try it out.
I think it depends on how much you value the HBO content on it. For me, it’s all I watched on Binge really (bar a couple Foxtel Originals) so definitely. Especially since the quality will be better. But I think if you stay subscribed to streamers permanently you’re wasting money. Watch what you want and dip in and out as you need. For me, Max will probably be dumped once Last of Us and The Rehearsal finish up. But also HBO has such a wealth of content that I might be inclined to stick around.
The fast-tracked Warner streaming premieres are nice. Max originals being in the same place is nice (bar Hacks which will probably stay on Stan). It might take a few months to truly get going. I’m curious as to the depth of the catalogue beyond the lists they’re sending media which have to just be highlights?
I wouldn’t be too concerned. It’s not even the right updated version. I thought we were getting a black version.
I wouldn’t look to much in to the screen grabs. It wouldn’t suprise me if some one has stuffed up. When it comes out it comes out it should be black.
Thanks all. Yes I was thinking about an annual subscription but monthly is a good way to go. Watch loads and cancel and then wait until there’s more new content and get it for another month further down the track.
According to TVBlackbox, Max launches at 6am AEDT tomorrow.
Based on what I have seen so far there’s no pressing need for me to try it out. Will be interesting to see if they can get access to more shows and movies as time goes on.
It’s going to be interesting to see how WBD handles the content, given Binge. I’m sure Max would’ve been discussed before Foxtel’s last licence was signed. I’d suspect all the first runs or pretty much the biggest new stuff will head Max’s way.
A lot of that has already been announced reported, plus an extensive (but not complete) list of titles available on launch tomorrow and throughout the month of April is already available.
This shows which will air across Max / Binge for the remainder of episodes etc.
It looks like some of those shows are only showing the air date and a lot of then have already started. So hopefully they just upload the episodes that have already aired at the launch date rather than drag it out.
Just saw a commercial for Max during Nine News Queensland.
The adverts have been all over TV all day and tonight.
Max has launched.
The two shows I wanted aren’t there.
Looks like a relatively small catalogue in my opinion.
