Former Australian cricketer Bob Cowper has died at 84. Cowper played 27 Tests between 1964 and 1968 before suddenly retiring when he was just 28, to chase a career as a stockbroker and merchant banker. He scored 302 over 12 hours against England at the MCG in February 1966, Test cricket’s first triple century on Australian soil.

Aussie Rules great and former commentator Robert Walls has passed away, following a battle with cancer. He chose voluntary assisted dying over another round of chemotherapy.

Former West Coast premiership player Adam Selwood has died at 41. This came just over three months after the passing of his twin brother Troy Selwood.

She was a two-time Logies guest. In 1973 and again in 1987. She visited Australia again in 1992 apparently coinciding with Ten starting (another) rerun of MASH

She was a good actress. Wouldn’t be known to many, but was in a lot in minor supporting or guest roles over the decades, TV and film. I watched her in Big Sky on Star on Disney Plus a few years ago, in a sinister dramatic performance, was one of the best in that.
Valerie was hilarious as the nervous-nelly wife of Martin Short’s character in 90s Disney family flick Jungle 2 Jungle, which also starred Tim Allen, Sam Huntington, Leelee Sobieski (whatever happened to her - she used to be in everything in the late 90s and early 2000s), Lolita Davidovich, JoBeth Williams and David Ogden Stiers:
