I saw Simmons and Westheimer appear numerous times on Letterman over the years.

Tragic to see a second star from this show go too soon.

ABC statement on the passing of David Morrow

The ABC would like to pay tribute to sports commentator David Morrow, who has sadly died.

David had a long history with the ABC, joining in 1980 and working here for more than three decades. He was part of the ABC’s radio Rugby League team and TV and radio cricket commentary team and covered major track and field meetings in and around Australia, including Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

His distinctive voice called some of the most memorable sporting moments in history. Throughout his career at the ABC and other media outlets he covered eight Olympic Games, six Commonwealth Games and 42 seasons of NRL.

David was awarded an OAM in 2005 for services to the community, sport and sports broadcasting. He was also inducted into the SCG Media Hall of Honour in 2023 and the NRL Hall of Fame earlier this year.

We extend our sincere condolences to David’s family, friends and former colleagues.
