Herald Sun reports tonight that Barry Humphries’ family declined an offer from the Victorian Government to host the state funeral in Melbourne. Instead the service will be held in Sydney. The report says the Humphries family was said to be unimpressed by the manner of the Victorian Government’s initial approach, said to be made late on a Sunday evening.
Good. Barry hated Melbourne and Victorians shouldn’t spend a single cent on him.

I don’t think he hated it… as he grew up there, but there dose seem to be a few sore points. Especially from the Melbourne Comedy festival whish is understandable.
Plus wouldn’t surprise me that the Vic Government are trying to save money.
