MasterChef Australia

I just noticed that its 2.5 hours of Masterchef tonight going till 10pm. That’s a bit ridiculous.

I always found the double thursday episodes a bit much. I assume this isnt a masterclass though? I think Masterclass should air Sundays before the main episode.

I member when masterclass used to air on Fridays. Used to be a decent option when nothing except sportsball is on.

I guess they could air it at 8:30 on a Friday. I assume ten have a cheaper option in have you been paying attention encores though.

No Master classes didn’t rate on their own 3 or 4 seasons ago. I remember they were getting like 500k. They only seemed to get an audience again off the back of Thursday Masterchef.

MC Producer: Hi guys, need some fruit for the set
Coles: how much?
MC Producer: stacks

Okay, don’t get me wrong, it’s still a top class show and only ep 3…

But seriously…

10:05pm FINISH!?!?!?!?

Was this meant to happen during filming? I reckon Endemol Shine wanted it to begin last Sunday but MKR (instead of the recent Mondat/Tuesday finales) went back to a Sunday finale?

Btw, they were great eps tonight, lots of pressure and tension. Benita made it by the skin of her teeth (but so glad, love the oldies). Poor Rachie (I’ve abbreivated his name)… Smashed his plate :persevere:

Indian pay TV channel Star World has been fasttracking every season of MasterChef since the show began. In the past 3 years it showed each episode usually one week after it aired here on Ten. However it looks like this year Star World will show this season a few weeks after Australia, based on this tweet to a local fan last night:

We will be airing the latest season of #MasterChefAuOnSW! Stay tuned to this space for further updates.

(Star World has its own hashtag for MC to avoid spoilers from fans in Australia)

Why the hell would Ten show MasterClass off the back of The Living Room or even The Project?! It would get a bigger share if they showed it after a normal ep. It would rate way more than a new or rpt of SVU.

@turdall I would call that fake news. Graham Norton airs at 8.30 not Have You Been Paying Attention.

I would call you fake news. Ten aired have you been paying attention encores last year. I assume they would do the same next year. How is that fake news? I would like a retraction as I wasnt even issuing fucking news. Read the post… i assume…

In relation to your why the hell… which is extremely dramatic. You do realise they air masterchef off the back of the project between monday and thursday where it is quite successful. The Living Room is also a lifestyle program and could mix well with another show of a similar nature.

However, I tend to agree that masterclass is a weak concept and wouldnt do that well as a standalone. I wouldn’t be as dramatic as you are to completely right of someones idea as they obviously concerned about the 2.5 hour dedication viewers must endure.

@William_C grow up a little and remember this id a forum where many have interests in media and tv shows. Targeting, being overly protective takes the fun out of those interests and makes it less enjoyable to discuss on these forums. Thanks in advance.

I couldn’t stay up that late ,I’ve recorded last nights episode and I’ll watch it tonight

I just notice that Jaguar has replaced Fiat Chrysler as official vehicle supplier. So contestants in pressure tests or elimination challenges were transported to and from MasterChef kitchen on the latest model of Jaguar XJ instead of Alfa Romeo or Jeep vehicles.

###Home Cooking Week On MasterChef Australia.

Starts This Sunday At 7.00pm. On TEN And WIN Network.

In the biggest surprise of the MasterChef Australia season so far, the contestants discover the judges have locked up all the specialist equipment for Home Cooking Week.

The contestants must spend the week cooking inspiring and delicious dishes using only the equipment found in everyday kitchens. No blast chillers and no modern technology – just raw talent.

In Sunday’s tasty mystery box challenge, Matt, George and Gary have each chosen three of their favourite ingredients that the contestants must use to create a remarkable dish.

The pressure intensifies on Monday night when the three contestants facing elimination must keep up with Gary as he demonstrates his classic roast chicken. With no recipe and no clock, they must create their own spectacular dish to remain in the competition. Who can keep up? Who will go home?

Ever wondered what the judges cook at home? In Tuesday’s unmissable immunity challenge, Gary, George and Matt have brought their fridges to the MasterChef Australia kitchen. Which fridge will the contestant choose to cook with?

On Wednesday, in their first ever team challenge, the contestants take over one of Melbourne’s leading Italian restaurants, Gradi. With chef Johnny Di Francesco running the pass, they have three hours prep time to feed pizza to 250 hungry customers.

Thursday’s elimination challenge features one of the most humble, resilient and versatile ingredients – the potato.

Home Cooking Week wraps up with a very special MasterClass at the Richmond Rowing Club on the banks of Melbourne’s iconic Yarra River.

MasterChef Australia Home Cooking Week starts this Sunday at 7.00pm and continues Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm.

I remember in the very first season of Masterchef they had Hyundai iMax ,then Mitsubishi Outlanders or ASX.
I think they had Kia vehicles one season also .

I’ve just finished watching last nights double episode mystery box challenge and first elimination for this season. I really felt sorry for Rafie ,the pressure really got to him that was why he dropped his plate,it’s also hard being the first contestant eliminated. Its great to see two over 45 contestants for a change,Pia (49) and Benita(57).The last few seasons have had all younger contestants,'Gen 'Y’s .

I love how all these people are saying “I won’t stay up until 10pm” (and don’t get me wrong, I hope we don’t see that again for a normal ep), but 910k people in the 5 main cities did :+1:

Yep, it was pretty tough for Rashedul. Had he not dropped the plate in front of the fridge would it have changed the result?
