It was such a boring choice for them to pick. I’ve had Sticky date type ice cream before. Sarah’s and Andre’s ice creams actually sounded like ones that I would buy.

And Declan too. I would actually buy that.

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream For Laura’s Ice Cream.

MasterChef Australia’s Laura Sharrad Brings Her Winning ‘Laura’s Sticky Date Pudding & Butterscotch Sauce Ice Cream’ to Coles stores For A Limited Time.

Laura Sharrad has scooped up a dream-come-true prize in a MasterChef Australia immunity challenge set by Curtis Stone, with her indulgent Laura’s Sticky Date Pudding & Butterscotch Sauce Ice Cream now available exclusively in store at Coles nationwide for a limited time.[1]

Curits challenged MasterChef Australia contestants to create a winter warmer ice cream flavour, and pair it with a dessert. Laura’s Sticky Date Pudding & Butterscotch Sauce Ice Cream paired with date, pineapple and rum took out the ultimate prize, immunity – making her the first person through to the top 10, and on top of that, her ice cream will be sold in Coles stores across the country, until sold out.

Laura said: “I’m incredibly honoured and beyond excited to have won the Coles Ice Cream Challenge! It’s a dream come true to see my very own flavour stocked on Coles shelves. This sticky date pudding ice cream brings such a warm, nostalgic taste that so many Aussies will know and love, and I can’t wait to see people across the country enjoying a scoop (or two!) this winter.”

This delicious collaboration marks the third consecutive year that MasterChef Australia and Coles have brought a contestant’s creation from the kitchen to the supermarket, proving their partnership is anything but vanilla.

Tamar Hovagimian, Head of Partnerships - Paramount Brand Studio at Paramount Australia, said: “We’re thrilled to launch Laura’s delicious new ice cream in partnership with our founding sponsor, Coles. This collaboration exemplifies our shared commitment to creating opportunities that benefit contestants, engage audiences, and provides a unique food experience for Coles customers. We know MasterChef Australia fans and foodies will fall in love with Laura’s Sticky Date Pudding & Butterscotch Sauce Ice Cream.”

Carmel Horvath, Head of Sponsorships and Events at Coles, said: “MasterChef Australia has been inspiring our customers to create delicious food since 2009. We’re excited to offer a brand-new product from a MasterChef challenge, available in store at Coles stores nationally the very next day.”

Marty Benson, Director of Content, Melbourne at Endemol Shine Australia, said: “We are delighted to have once again worked alongside Coles to bring to a real-life taste of the MasterChef Australia kitchen into homes right across the country. It represents an incredible opportunity not only for Laura to see her product brought to life, but for fans to lift the lid on a MasterChef-worthy treat this winter - get in quick would be my advice!”

Yes she probably will.

Laura or Callum winning just feels way too predictable. I would like to see Sarah or Andre win this season.

There is an interview with Maggie Beer in the Sunday Mail in Adelaide today (paywall). Tonight’s episode was Maggie’s first appearance on MasterChef in two years, after she underwent three emergency operations in hospital for broken bones sustained from a fall down a flight of stairs at her Barossa Valley property last August.

Poh was absent from tonight’s air fryer challenge as she was a bit unwell (according to Sofia).

The 10 remaining contestants had to cook at least one ingredient with the air fryer provided. They were banned from using ovens. The contestant who cooked the dish of the day would receive a $5000 Harvey Norman voucher to decorate his or her kitchen, while the bottom three contestants would take part in Tuesday’s pressure test.

UPDATE: Sarah’s carrot dish was judged the best out of the ten, and won the voucher. The bottom three were Alana, Andre and Snezana.

In other news, season 17 will premiere on Lifetime Asia on Monday July 7. It will be shown weeknights at 8.30pm Hong Kong time.

The flash back shown on Monday of the onion chopping / knife challenge from season one brought back memories. They used to have those sort of skills challenges in the early seasons.

Tonight’s episode was divided into two rounds. The nine contestants were divided into three teams of three. One member from each team would then cook a dish outdoors in 45 minutes using BBQ hot plate powered by hydrogen gas. The contestant who cooked the best dish would lead the whole team back into the MC kitchen for round two, and a shot for immunity. Each contestant from that team had to pick one of five portraits, and cook a MasterChef-worthy dish inspired by the person in the portrait, in 75 minutes. The five portraits were: Dame Nellie Melba (Peach Melba), Count Alexander Grigoryevich Stroganov (Beef Stroganoff), Ding Baozhen (Kung Pao chicken), Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington (Beef Wellington), and Anna Pavlova (Pavlova).
