I usually watch MasterChef, but was unable tonight. A few comments have popped up saying its an odd episode. Was it because Mikiko Terasaki left early? And thus not tasting the food? Or was it something else?
Also, a shame Steve left. I liked him

I think so, also a very odd challenge. Youâd reckon itâs the editing that they caused it. Plus it was very rushed imo.

Was a combination of things. Mikiko was barely seen, aside from what weâd been seeing all weekend in the promo. Then the cook finished with almost 45 mins left of the ep, which was then simply tasting and Adâs!
Itâs almost like a chunk of the episode was edited out.

Last Tuesdayâs pressure test with Anna Polyviou was the showâs 1000th episode.
The Australian Gas Infrastructure Group, which owns AGN (Australian Gas Network), told the inquiry on Friday they want the sponsorship to increase the profile of these alternatives for the gas industry.
Both AGIG and Network Ten declined to reveal how much the sponsorship cost. They also told the inquiry that viewers were not led to believe that the renewable gas in the MasterChef kitchen was available for their homes.
The Senate inquiry started in March 2023 and is investigating a wide range of âmisleading environmental and sustainability claimsâ across different industries.
I wonder if this is the challenge most fans voted as their all-time favourite late last year?

Eight eliminated contestants return for the chance to cook their way back into the competition.
The 10th contestant would have been eliminated at the end of Tuesdayâs pressure test. Maybe two of the ten declined their second chance at competing this season?

Savindra was eliminated at the end of Darren Purchese dessert pressure test last night.
I wonder why those two didnât get a second chance??

The showâs social media accounts posted this afternoon that Steveâs mother Dahlas was in hospital when the redemption cook took place, so Steve decided to stay with her as the priority.

My mother is in hospital and is very unwell. My father passed away during Covid, so I need to support my mother and it would be unfair on my family to return to filming with this in mind.

Iâm confused. The challenge was to cook with a particular herb and the winner seemed to just mix the herb through her rice? I donât think it was even a part of her main dishes? Or did I miss somethingâŚ?
I swear when Sav was eliminated last night I was certain that theyâd favour her to come back in this challenge. Iâm just over boring cooks that seem to cook the same things all of the time. They need to reward creativity more.

Would l we blame on the producers on this. Also sheâs a favourite and contender to win.
It wasnât mixed with rice.
She added in it her sambal which normally uses some other green leaves. Instead of that normal green stuff with coconut, she used her herb as substitute. Thatâs why the judges mentioned creatively using it as itâs not normally used in that sambal
And it was a main part of her 6 dishes + rice

Thanks for clarifying. I was only half watching the cooking part of the episode and I picked up on the comment during the tasting where Sofia mentioned that it was smart to mix it through the rice.
Iâm still over contestants that cook very repetitive types of foods and cuisines constantly though, as it doesnât show how versatile you are. I wanted to see more creativity or growth for someone to return and thought that some of the other contestants really did that last night.
