Comgrats yellow team

Great ep tonight, love the team challenges.

Great views too of some of the pavillions at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds. It was a massive fete and the contestants oulled it off.

Gotta say, doesn’t Nigella’s ‘peaches and cream’ look, appear great on a sunny day with a wide-brimmed hat

Great episode tonight. The three teams raised $17,902 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
EDIT: Thursday’s Herald Sun has a photo of Gary presenting the cheque of the amount to the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation with Wednesday’s date.
Blue team was the first to arrive at the fete to sell food but set the prices too low. Red team and yellow team sold their salad for $12, which I think was a rip-off, but the criteria was that the team which raised the least amount of money would face elimination. Blue team did not check the rival teams prices until late into service, so it had itself to blame for the loss.

It didn’t have itself to blame. The challenge itself is stupid. When there are thousands of people, already lining up for each team, the quality of the food or the price of the food is not going to matter.

Blue team arrived first and so set good prices. Subsequent teams arrive and set their prices higher. If blue team had checked rival teams prices earlier in service, as you say, then they would have set prices about the other teams. Which would have lead to those teams the increasing their prices.

When they have similar challenges on say, The Apprentice, expenses are at least taken into account in determining team profit. What’s the point of just looking at revenue?

Tonight’s name the cake challenge was very tricky. There were cakes on the table that I have not heard of before, such as the one from Iceland or the one made by Nigella at Easter. I also notice that was a giant mooncake among the collection. But why did they put Chinese character 囍 (double happiness) on top of the mooncake? It could have been mistaken for a Chinese wedding cake!

I agree that $$ earnt for a challenge is not the fairest particularly when most people would have just chosen a line prior to the teams arriving. I know it was a similar case in the Chinese New Year challenge coming up that I participated in… I just ran for the line that was closest at first and that team got more money from me for that reason.

Last night was a shame to have 3 guys in the bottom… this would have to be the biggest male to female ratio I think that the show has ever had? 6 guys remain to 11 girls.

A moon cake is a traditional chinese cake. That’s why.

The guys are dropping like flies. They have some strong likable male contestants I just hope they don’t lose too many of them.

I will miss Nigella! She was fantastic. For me more than anything it highlighted how much better it is with a female judge on the show. Given most of the guest chefs are usually male as well.

Nigella was fantastic. I really enjoyed her. I think Ten’s problem though is they have had too many of the guest judges in the earlier weeks. I think they should have saved them for the later weeks when we know the contestants and the show is becoming a bit stale.

Might be an idea for ten to poach a female judge to balance out the judging panel. But perhaps 4 judges are a bit much. It does seem like a boys club. The girl from My Kitchen Rules, I don’t know her name of the top of my head (Katy Perry lookalike) was good - perhaps they could get someone like her as a permanent fourth judge.

Who? The only likeable remaining male contestant is the ranger. The others have egos that out weight their talent.

Matt is quite likable. Some probably won’t like him, like you. But he seems to be a crowd favourite.

He’s the most unlikeable IMO. Constantly sings his own praises.

To you perhaps. But you aren’t the whole of Australia or Masterchef audience :stuck_out_tongue:

No shit Sherlock.

Pure. Class. Perhaps it’s your ego that’s the problem not the male contestents…

Nothing to do with her being female. Nigella is just simply a class above the rest.

As for male/female generally - MKR works perfectly with Pete and Manu.

Gary, George and Matt feel stale because they are - Gary and George are dumb as, have no personality, are not entertaining, always grumble and moan to the contestants (especially Gary) - and Matt has also increasingly become pathetic.

I noticed Nigella popped Gary back in his place last night after he went on one of his classic nasty rants about one of the cakes. I knew it’s not just me that can’t stand his attitude. It sucks.

I was sorry to see Con go ,I liked him ,only 6 guys left now .All those cakes looked yummy ,there were ones there that I’d never seen too.I agree Nigella is great on Masterchef,I hope they can get her back for next season too.
