MasterChef Australia

Having the mystery box ingredients chosen by the viewers certainly tripped up some contestants.

I was hoping that Vegemite would of been chosen as the ingredient to cook with, but it would of proved difficult as it was interesting. Marmalade was a good choice though.

Vegemite is an awesome ingredient! I recently saw a recipe that I made for pasta with a cheesy vegemite suace. Literally melt butter, add a teaspoon of vegemite, spring onions and cheese and mix through the pasta. Amazing!

I don’t think Vegemite is that hard. You can do a lot with Vegemite. I use it in heaps of my cooking. Lentil Burgers with vegemite is great.

Reynold’s dish tonight, almost looks as technical as Heston’s from last years grand final!

Should be an exciting ep to watch

My money’s on Karmen

Interesting that Last Week, Con was in the Pressure Test Fighting for Survival and Olivia was in a Immunity Cook Off, Tonight and Tomorrow it’s the Other Way Round.

Who is up for elimination tonight? I missed it last night (due to Eurovision).

Chloe, Karmen and Olivia.

It isn’t fair if that is happening,I noticed that too last week Marco and Gary joking around with the female contestants, and picking on the male contestants. We know a female will be eliminated tonight then

Second time in a week that a contestant slipped in the final seconds of a cooking challenge - This could become a OH&S issue. Why did they leave until the last minute to take out ingredients from a fridge/freezer?
Reynold’s moss dessert for the pressure test was complicated, in the similar scale as Heston’s creation for the finale last year.
Olivia was eliminated because her matcha ball stayed in the freezer for too long so its taste and texture changed. Had she been able to take the ball out in time, the judges would have had a harder decision to decide whether to eliminate Olivia or Karmen, whose re-creation tasted slightly better but missed the cremeux.

How is it an OH&S issue? Did you not watch the episode? The contestant left the stuff in the freezer because she forgot about it and ran out of time. She also slipped over only because she realised with 2 seconds remaining on the clock. There’s no OH&S issue. There’s a time management issue from the contestant.

Yes, just like Gary that always makes them hussle/come on/what are you waiting for/jog on over etc. when at other times Matt mocks a contestant in the middle of a cook running around.

One time they want them to run about like idiots…other times they don’t. Pathetic.

Wasn’t it the same contestant that slipped? If it was maybe she has something wrong with her shoes.

She said this morning on Studio 10 that it was her own fault because she was rushing & had maybe spilt some flour or sugar on the floor.

It was great to see last season’s ‘desert King’ Reynold back again. I remember when he cooked that dish that the 3 girls in the pressure test had to cook last night. It looked very yummy😊

It will be a OH&S issue when one of them falls over when they’re carrying something eg a knife.

I think it was right back in season one but I remember they had a guy drop a knife through his foot once.

You always see contestants put down whatever knives/utensils they are using before they make that last second dash to the fridge/pantry so I’d suggest that they have already had OH&S briefings drilled into them pretty hard.

Is it just me or does the opening sequence seem to have every chick doing something (ie running to a bench, throwing an ingredient around etc) while the blokes are all just stood there looking dim?

I don’t understand why the preview for tonight’s immunity challenge did not mention the chef’s name? Was he not well known? For the record, he was Braden White, head chef of The APO in Brisbane, but when he competed he was representing Ricky’s in Noosa.
Still in disbelief how Nicolette beat Braden in the immunity challenge by one point. Both of their fish dishes were top class but both had flaws: Braden’s mulloway was overcooked while Nicolette left the brown fatty bit in her salmon fillet. Had Braden’s fish been cooked perfectly he would have won or tied with Nicolette.
