Where did you get the info re them filming only up to final 4? I just assumed they’d finished filming everything (since the betting agencies have already picked a winner haha)
The Daily Mail reported the top four was decided late last month with contestants posting on social media of photos of themselves arriving home.

They can still do service challenges with 20 customers. Maybe each contestant does them at seperate times or in seperate restaurants.
But that will take all day, and the entire kitchen will have to be extensively cleaned between each service.

Could the just move filming to Sydney for the final? Do it out a restaurant?
They have done this on previous seasons where they’ve cooked in different restaurants.
And yes surely they could do that in Syd then go to Melb for finale.
The F6 rumours that I had seen had Brendan in it, so I was surprised to see him go tonight. I guess it’s now anyone’s game!! I am a huge Tessa fan so was over the moon to see her shine tonight. She’s been a bit under the radar this season but starting to peak at the right time.

Brendan was very unlucky to be sent home in last night’s elimination challenge. His seafood noodle dish lacked balance in flavours unlike the three other dishes. The umami in the broth was too strong.
And what about the one inch cube tasting challenge? Unlike Tessa who failed on her first attempt, the other contestants did very well, so much so that it was down to just three cubes (there were 60 in total) when Emelia guessed incorrectly and became the fourth and last contestant to cook in round two.

This shows the calibre of people left (and how much their food knowledge has improved). I couldn’t believe that they hot down to the last 2 cubes! Challenges like this contestants usually bomb out quote quickly. I think Tessa was just overthinking her guess assuming Celery would be too obvious to be a choice.

As Chris mentioned, Daily Mail previously reported Brendan was in the top six, so the paper was wrong.
Apparently the final was filmed a few weeks ago. Not sure of the details.
Gosh I hope they are wrong.
I would like to see Tessa or Callum win but it will probably be Laura or Emilia
If you haven’t caught up with past seasons of MasterChef on 10 Play, you better hurry. As of tonight, seasons 1-7 will expire in eight months’ time (February 2021), while seasons 8 and 9 expire at the end of this year. Seasons 10 and 11 still have 11 months left on 10 Play.
Season 12 premieres on Asian pay TV channel Lifetime on Sunday, June 23, at 8pm Hong Kong time.
I wonder if they will remove the past seasons of Masterchef from 10 all access at the same time they remove them from 10 play
BVOD & SVOD usually have different licensing agreements.
This will have a significant impact on season 13 of MasterChef as overseas chefs won’t be allowed to enter Australia and be guest judges on the show, so we won’t see the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Nigella Lawson next year. I also think measures which took effect from late March, in the middle part of filming of season 12, will continue for the entire season 13.

I don’t think that really matters to be honest - there are enough talented chefs in Australia to be able to still air a compelling season - whilst Gordon Ramsey, Nigella and Heston are all great in their own right i don’t feel like not having them would take away from any joy i get in watching Masterchef.

Yep. They’ve been wrong on a number of things by analysing social media and their only real source on this one are betting sites. Plus at best any insider info that they had would probably get them to the Final 4 (if that’s what they have filmed up too?) or if they have filmed the ending the Final 2 or 3… not the winner as they likely filmed multiple endings. Last season had 3 people in the finale. Maybe this person made it that far and it caused a surge in bets because a while ago it seemed unlikely would be there and feels like a dark horse.
I actually don’t mind this. Next season actually has a lot of opportunity to showcase Australia. As we didn’t have many outdoor or proper team challenges this season I’d like to see different weeks in different states.
