Married at First Sight

Woman’s Day claims that Bec Zacharia had lost her day job following the airing of the third dinner party last month.

Meanwhile…

The Married At First Sight experts are once again under the spotlight after a complaint to the Psychology Council of New South Wales regarding John Aiken.

Walters went on to express concern that Aiken’s ‘involvement in a program that appears to prioritise drama and conflict… may be in conflict with several principles of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Code of Ethics (2007), which has been adopted by the Psychology Board of Australia’.

The fact the complaint was closed suggests the Council disagreed on this point.

But it draws attention to the vexed question of whether the experts are there to genuinely assist the couples, or simply to aid the producers in stirring up drama.

Just look at the show’s track record of couples living happily ever after.

Mel Schilling has died.

Absolutely devastating news. This one hurts. :broken_heart:

It’s going to be hard to watch the parts of the show that feature her. RIP Mel.

We had a similar situation with Jock sadly.

Tomorrow nights dinner party will heavily feature her. I hope they do acknowledge it at the start or end of the episode, or I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t air tomorrow out of respect and give them time to add a proper tribute on Sunday.

Very sad news.

Definitely will be hard to watch - particularly tomorrow night’s episode.

Nice touch for 10’s Late News for mentioning the sad news too.

Absolutely Nine will have an edit, surely, maybe a ‘remembrance’ card at the end with 10sec silence or something? But also a chance of a quick record with the remaining team at the ep opener noting it off the bat? Or even subtle edits in the episode or upcoming episodes to mitigate her impact out of respect and for her family. And a slight chance of the episode being pulled.

Not only will tomorrow’s episode be difficult to watch, but so will the “after” show.

Nine will have to be very careful in handling this sensibly.

From the UK.

Given the network’s NRL commitments, Nine will have no choice but to show the dinner party as scheduled tomorrow. But I am sure it will include a tribute either at the start or the end of the episode.

Sadly I won’t continue to watch this season it will be too painful to watch and just like when Masterchef continued to air Episodes featuring Jock , I didn’t watch that season either.

Of course they have a choice. Nothing to do with the NRL.

But I think it will air with a brief voiceover tribute message before the show, or possibly John Aiken giving a brief intro to camera.

ACA will probably run a piece as well.

Very sad news to hear about Mel, that she was gone too soon before the season ended.

Hopefully 9 will do some tributes throughout the last few weeks before the season wraps up.
