hook line and sinker… they got you in!
And? I don’t get you.
That’s the point of the show. I know what I’m watching and so do the other 2 million viewers each night.
It’s basically a scripted drama and I’m responding that way and commenting on the behaviour of it’s characters.
Correct, you’re being manipulated to a show that is completely contrived and edited for ratings. Try to keep an open mind on what’s being shown on screen before passing judgment on the contestants.
I’m not being manipulated bro. I know what the show is. This thread is full of comments about the cast and “characters” over the years and following along with the story. Why am I the one being singled out?
It’s like any other. You watch and comment on it’s content.
Lastly, I am judging what’s being shown on screen. Again, that’s the point. I can’t judge what I haven’t seen.
If she treated Jono so badly, he could’ve left. Instead, he constantly wrote stay and talked her up to the experts. He literally had sex with her in Perth for home visits, which was the week before the final vows. Now because the Ellie situation came out, she’s suddenly been awful to him the entire experiment?
So if I’m dating someone or have formally committed to them in some way, it’s ok for me to be pursuing someone else because I’m not “married”? ![]()
The point of the matter is - if Jono wanted to pursue Ellie that’s fine. He should have been honest with Lauren about it and they could’ve left amicably. Ellie also could’ve pulled her aside at the dinner party and had a chat to her. Instead they acted like they had won a prize and were extremely childish about it.
@BJT2 You only seem to come in here to make stab comments about the show or people’s opinions of the show. I don’t understand why you have a problem with people enjoying a show and/or discussing the show as much as they want too. Also ridiculous to dismiss anything someone says to basically say they are a victim to the editors.
People can enjoy a show and comment on the show as much as they want too - like 2million+ other Australians. It’s constantly the top trending topic in Twitter (X) every night. Last night MAFS and Lauren were trending #1 and #2 so people want to talk about it! Stop acting like he or anyone in this topic are doing anything wrong by discussing it or having an opinion. It’s ludicrous.
Chris, no problem with people sampling and enjoying this show as entertainment. As long as they know its just entertainment, My point is keep an open mind on the countenances prior to judging them. What you’re watching going to air each night is not the full story.
I think you’re the one who doesn’t get it.
We are commenting on what we are seeing. You say be mindful of commenting as we don’t see everything so therefore you prefer we don’t comment at all as we don’t have all the information.
Isn’t that the way with all shows? Mysteries, drama’s etc. There’s always more we don’t see including on scripted shows.
I’m going to comment on what we are seeing as that’s what I’m watching.
The same applies to all reality shows. They are entertainment. They are edited. We don’t see everything. I just can’t work out what your problem is except that you dislike MAFS so want to make these stabby comments and act like you are holier-than-thou.
People shall discuss the show as they please.
They were supposedly banned from any media opportunities up until now for spoiling the show and breaching their contracts. I guess now that the relationship has been revealed on the show, they are using them to hype up the finale.
Chris, I don’t dislike the show. I have in the past watched for entertainment purposes. Its been great product in keeping eyeballs on free to air.
The problem I do have with this show (in comparison to other reality formats), is its very contrived and edited format. The conversation can be made up on the spot. That’s been very clear from the recent dinner scenes. Basically, this is trash TV at its best. But these are real people, and a lot do get a bad edit for ratings and story telling.
I realise your a fan of the show, nothing wrong with that but I will also discussing the show as I please.
There is no such thing as a bad edit. You cannot edit what people have said and how they’ve said it. Even if it is cut and pasted together they still said it.
As for the cast, well surely by now they know what they’re signing up for.
Yes they are real people and these real people don’t seem to be very nice people at all. (Jono and Ellie)
You are not discussing as you please, you are literally shutting people down for discussing the show… telling them that they are manipulated, are too invested, they need to have an open mind and basically that they’ve been sucked in. Like come on, it’s the 11th season - people don’t need to be lectured on the format or editing, that it’s for entertainment or other general statements to try and invalidate their opinions. And that’s the last I have to say on that.
Bring on tonight. I actually am keen to see Cass unleash on Sara. It looks so random. ![]()
Chris, its okay, I realise you really like the show. I’m sorry if I’m spelling out some truths.
Lol What truths?
WE KNOW IT’S MANIPULATED TELEVISION!
You aren’t telling anyone anything they don’t know. I really really don’t understand what point you think you’re making.
You still here David? lol
What?
With all the drama around Jono and Ellie and then Tim and Sara no one has commented on what a weird person Collins is.
or the non-appearance of Madeleine.
I noticed that Madeleine wasn’t there. Apparently she was not invited back to the reunion after her extremely strange behavior both on screen and off.
MAFS EXCLUSIVE: Surprising reason Madeleine didn’t attend explosive reunion (yahoo.com)
Interesting. She told the DM she didn’t go because the production and her values “didn’t align”.
