How do they insist? If you watch the show, people get called out by others all the time for being there for the wrong reasons. Collins got called out for his bad acting skills just last week.
This show is so contrived and edited. Itās more of a comedy than reality.
Repeatedly in interviews.
Youāve had to go back 5 years for most of those. The recent one is mostly people who have been on a gameshow, featured on another reality show or have a TikTok following - mostly not acting and I donāt see anyone from MAFS insisting anything.
Anyway as I said, particularly in the past 2-3 seasons people are constantly getting called out for being there for fame / the wrong reasons. Itās very much a part of the show now. Contestants and viewers are very aware of these things. Collins, Ben and Jack this season are all being questioned on their motives for being there.
Thatās okay. People who have been raised on a diet of reality television have trouble believing that these shows are all manipulations by producers to create an outcome they want.
Iām not sure what Iām not believing? Iām acknowledging certain people are cast this aay. You seem to think you are having a stab at a show for manipulating viewers on contestants pasts but in many cases these things are very much discussed on the show. Contestants are constantly called out for chasing fame.
I know people who work as producers in reality television. They basically say, you shouldnāt believe 99% of what you are seeing. They do a good job of covering up how fake it all is, so they get annoyed when they get caught out.
Donāt really care where these people come from but theyāve got some ādooziesā this year! The aforementioned Collins, Ben and Jack and add in Sara and Tori. Tim needs to run for his life away from Sara, as does Ellie from Ben and Tori needs a check on reality. Why didnāt anyone repeat at the Commitment Ceremony, including the so called āexpertā when Jack said that he wasnāt āintoā Tori. But Tori thinks her and Jack are the strongest couple! Tristan can also be added to the āwhy are they hereā lot. I donāt think he really knows!
Episode 14 - Intruders
After a tense and emotional Commitment Ceremony, some couples are licking their wounds but for SARA and TIM itās a time of self-reflection and growth, as SARA writes TIM an apology letter. CASSANDRA and TRISTAN seem to be taking steps backwards after CASSANDRA reveals he slept on the couch last night. CASSANDRA is feeling deflated about the lack of kisses, cuddles and affection from her husband.
Half of the couples receive a surprise in the form of an invitation to an intruder wedding.
Itās time to meet a familiar face in groom MICHAEL, who was meant to be half of one of the original couples, but his dreams were crushed when his match pulled out. John and the experts didnāt want this to be the end for MICHAEL, so they went back to the drawing board and after an extensive search, reveal they have found him a new match.
As MICHAEL prepares for his wedding day, his new match is still a mystery, and will be unveiled the moment they meet and marry at first sight.
As a nervous MICHAEL waits at the end of the aisle, his new match STEPHEN is finally revealed. The attraction is clear from the start as they banter and flirt their way through the ceremony ā family and friends are all taken by the obvious connection.
Meanwhile, psychic medium and new bride MADELEINE is preparing for her big day. As she sits in the makeup chair, she gets a psychic download from her spirit guides about her new hubby. Her husband-to-be ASH is down-to-earth with a heart of gold and the grounding force MADELEINE needs.
When they meet, ASH is blown away by MADELEINEās beauty and is happy with the pairing. MADELEINE on the other hand, isnāt so certain and takes some time to warm to her new husband. At the end of the ceremony MADELEINE gets a psychic download about ASH raising alarm bells for her.
As they take their newlywed photos, MADELEINE canāt hide the fact sheās questioning her new nuptials and refuses to smile for the camera, but once ASH reveals he saw a ghost at his Airbnb her mood completely changes as she realises heās open to the spiritual world.
At MICHAEL and STEPHENās reception they bond at the head table, but after separating to mingle, MICHAELās friends accidentally reveal to STEPHEN that MICHAEL has a couple of ābaby mamasā which shocks STEPHEN, who and sets off to ask MICHAEL what this all means. After a simple explanation by MICHAEL, STEPHEN and his siblings all fall in love with MICHAEL and are overjoyed with this match.
Meanwhile, at MADELEINE and ASHās wedding, CASSANDRA and TRISTAN arenāt in a good place ā CASSANDRA tries to talk to TRISTAN but heās frosty and itās awkward. They make small talk, but when CASSANDRA says sheās āboredā TRISTAN is offended as he feels heās the one making all the effort, and an argument ensues. CASSANDRA walks off to the toilets crying.
Back at MICHAEL and STEPHENāS wedding, when MICHAEL reveals that STEPHEN wasnāt his first match, STEPHEN is sent into a spiral that heās just MICHAELāS āfill inā.
Madeleine seems annoying! Even though they are focusing on her as a medium, both her and the experts did specifically mention that she was previously an actress too. Based on the contestant commentary from Tori on her last night, I would say there is likely going to be some conflict between them.
Cass needs to leave. I feel like Tristan is not in the mental space to be on this. I do recall a promo this season showing someone being removed? Maybe itās him.
Very! I would however be on her side in any conflict between her and Tori. Not a Tori fan. I had high hopes for the two guys but Stephen seems to have taken the āfill inā for Michaelās first match to heart. Hope they can sort it out as they look like a lovely couple. Thereās very few of them on MAFS 2024!
I didnāt exactly understand how it was a red flag that Michaelās partner quit before it even started? They didnāt even meet. To me it seemed like he was already finding reasons to get out. Iāll be surprised if they last more than a couple of weeks.
That would be a pity. Would love to see a successful gay relationship on this show. Theyāve all been disastrous so far.
Episode 15
Itās 5 weeks into the experiment and the morning after the weddings of our two newest couples. Despite a promising start, MICHAEL and STEPHENās wedding ended with STEPHEN learning he is not MICHAELās first match in the experiment and left him questioning whether he should be here at all. STEPHEN is still battling his insecurities about the news, but both husbands are hopeful a honeymoon in Tasmania will help them regroup and settle.
For newlyweds MADELEINE and ASH the mood is upbeat too, as they pack for a honeymoon in Ulladulla on the Southern NSW coast. Psychic medium MADELEINEās eccentricities were a lot for ASH to take in and heās hoping some alone time will help him get to know his new wife on a deeper level.
Back at the apartments all is not so well, as after five weeks of trying, CASSANDRA and TRISTAN are in crisis. The couple have been fighting since MADELEINE and ASHās wedding when a conversation about their dating life triggered TRISTAN. But CASSANDRA is adamant the real issue is their lack of intimacy which has been impacted by TRISTANās low confidence and failure to take the initiative. As tensions escalate once again, TRISTAN storms out leaving CASSANDRA at breaking point.
Some of the original couples receive an invitation to the final wedding in the experiment.
Meanwhile, this yearās newest couple to be matched are preparing for their big day, and the experts have responded to psych nurse RIDGEās plea to find him a partner as he declares he is ready to leave his party-boy ways and settle down. But will 26-year-old single mum JADE live up to his sky-high standards?
JADE has been a single mum for eight years and wants to get married to create a safe and secure home environment for her 8-year-old daughter, V. But will a ready-made family be a step too far for this happy-go-lucky groom? The experts know JADE has a fun-loving side too and hope RIDGE can help bring joy to her otherwise mundane mum-life.
The pair are initially attracted to each other but RIDGEās jokes and gimmicks in the vows divide opinion. While his fun banter is a crowd pleaser there is a lingering concern ā is RIDGE mature enough for JADE and her daughter?
Revealing to RIDGE that she had a child proves the ultimate test, but when RIDGE unexpectedly responds in a mature and humbled way, JADE is left feeling confident that her new husband is in fact ready to settle down and could be just the grounding force she needs.
Back at the apartments after receiving a call for help, Expert John pays an emergency visit to CASSANDRA and TRISTAN to help them tackle their communication issues for once and for all.
For the three new couples, itās time to dive into married life on their honeymoons. JADE and RIDGE arrive at Port Stephens in Northern NSW while for MICHAEL and STEPHEN, a luxury city break in Hobart Tasmania proves fertile ground for unpacking STEPHENās insecurities and forging new bonds.
And in Ulladulla, MADELEINE and ASH are off to a great start until a walk around the property goes horribly wrong.
The unaired drama centers around Jade and groom Jayden, who, in an unforeseen twist, recognised each other immediately upon Jadeās entrance into the ceremony.
Jayden was one of the four grooms attending the intruder wedding alongside his bride Eden Harper and his fellow co-stars.
The pair had previously crossed paths while working at a bar on the Gold Coast, with Jayden handling security duties and Jade serving drinks behind the bar.
The producers were quick to stir the pot by separating Eden and Jayden, anticipating a clash that ultimately never materialised.
TBI reports distributor Red Arrow Studios International is bringing the current 11th season to overseas buyers at the London Screenings next week. This season will have 38 episodes, two longer than last season.
It should finish in the first week of April, provided it airs right through Easter holidays.
Episode 16 Third dinner party
Itās been three weeks since the beginning of the Married at First Sight experiment, and the original couples are getting ready for their third Dinner Party. For couples SARA and TIM and LUCINDA and TIMOTHY, the week has been spent recalibrating their relationships. This week has also brought three new couples into the experiment, who are preparing for their very first Dinner Party with the group.
Newly married groom, MICHAEL, whoās initial match pulled out of the experiment before their wedding, is ready to see the brides after meeting them at the initial hens night ā his new husband STEPHEN was kept a surprise. Newlyweds MADELEINE and ASH are still struggling to connect after an eventful honeymoon, while JADE and RIDGE are loved up.
At Skye Suites, CASSANDRA and TRISTAN are excited to enter the Dinner Party, a united front after a disagreement earlier in the week almost saw them call it quits. However, CASSANDRA arranged a date for TRISTAN over the weekend that brought them closer together.
While all seems calm in Skye Suites, a damning rumour has been doing the rounds: that one groom has confided in āthe boysā that if there is a ācouple swapā in the experiment, then the other grooms have permission to sleep with his wife because heās not attracted to her. LAUREN has heard the rumour and reveals that JACK is the groom in question. Tonight, with husband JONOās blessing and support, she wants to let TORI know about what JACK is saying behind her back.
After JONO promises to have LAURENās back tonight, the anxious pair enter the Cocktail Party first. When SARA and TIM enter next, LAUREN immediately pulls SARA and tells her that JACK has been saying one of the boys can sleep with TORI at ācouple swapā and SARA is in shock and admits that JACK isnāt being honest and authentic in the experiment. LAUREN and SARA agree they need to tell TORI and it needs to come out in a group forum so TORI can understand what JACK is doing.
TORI and JACK enter the Cocktail Party and as TORI gets a drink from the bar, LAUREN and SARA pull her aside. As LAUREN tells TORI, JONO watches on, admitting he thinks everything is going to backfire.
Heading into the Dinner Party, JACK is aware that TORIās demeanour has changed, and he asks what LAUREN has been saying. LAUREN says thereās been a lot said at the gym to JONO and JACK automatically deflects claiming whatever said was a joke. The rest of the table requests to know what the joke is, and SARA tells them JACK told the boys at the gym that they could sleep with TORI if there was a couple swap because heās not attracted to her. JACK admits to the table that this was ābanterā and TORI also agrees itās a joke. TORI claims she trusts JACK and agrees this was a joke. LAUREN is perplexed and the table is in shock.
LAUREN asks JACK why heās not attracted to TORI. JACK denies that he said this, and LAUREN says that JONO has told her everything. JONO and JACK argue back and forth about what was said and JACK continues to duck and weave. LAUREN questions whether JACKās denial means JONO is lying. JACK gets more heated and when LAUREN steps in to defend the attack on JONO, JACK tells JONO āmuzzle your womanā.
The group are in shock at JACKās words and JACK turns his sights on LAUREN again and the pair bicker, taking personal jabs at each other. JACK claims he is in fact attracted to TORI, and claims JONO is lying.
When pushed to admit exactly what JACK said, JONO backs down and says JACK actually did say he is attracted to TORI ā LAUREN is left stunned that her husband has flipped on her. After a frustrating screaming match, TORI storms out.
Away from the table, TORI admits she is overwhelmed, but SARA tells her that what JACK has been saying is disrespectful, and she needs to understand that heās not a good person. She asks TORI not to defend JACKās bad behaviour. Entering the room again, TORI is lost.
LUCINDA diffuses the tension by introducing the new couples and goes around the room to see where they are up to in their marriages. JADE and RIDGE are having a great time, MICHAEL and STEPHEN are also in a great place, while MADELEINE and ASH have some issues to work on.
As the Dinner Party continues, LAUREN is shocked that no one cares about what just transpired. Turning to TORI, LAUREN apologises for bringing up what she did, but TORI goes on the offensive, believing that LAUREN didnāt need to bring up what she did, if they were real friends LAUREN would know that it was all a joke. The pair go back and forth, but TORI wishes LAUREN would stay out of her business.
LAUREN turns her sights on JONO for not having her back. JONO finally admits that LAUREN simply repeated exactly what JONO told her. JONO admits that he didnāt expect LAUREN to cause a drama over what was said, and LAUREN explains to JONO that he needs to be on her side ā just like he said he would.
Drama! Nothing surprises me that comes out of Jackās mouth (you can tell the type) but Jonathan being pretty much mute the whole time really was what was the problem with everything IMO. If the rumours floating around about him are true, I guess it makes sense why heās not defending Lauren.

Episode 17 Third Commitment Ceremony
Itās the morning of the third Commitment Ceremony and as the couples face another day in the experiment, JACK is once again a hot topic of discussion, after a heated dinner table argument last night culminated in JACK directing JONATHAN to āmuzzle your wifeā.
The first couple on the couch is LUCINDA and TIMOTHY and despite sharing they had a good week of āspontaneous adventuresā, LUCINDA admits that sheās not feeling desired, and TIMOTHY is left feeling blindsided. As the level of intimacy remains stagnant, TIMOTHY is questioned by the experts and is officially put on notice. JAYDEN also takes the opportunity to school TIMOTHY accountable which leaves TIMOTHY frustrated and furious. As they head back to the couch, TIMOTHY warns LUCINDA not to talk to him.
A loved-up EDEN and JAYDEN canāt get enough of each other and are all smiles on the couch. After bringing some lightness and laughter into their relationship, SARA and TIM are also riding high this week. JADE and RIDGEās first time on the couch is a positive experience as the pair discuss their compatibility and physical intimacy, itās clear that RIDGE is smitten with his new wife. All couples unanimously choose to stay.
The evening takes a turn as TRISTAN and CASSANDRA make a sombre appearance on the couch after an incredibly emotional week. Despite making some advances in their relationship, TRISTAN is clouded by doubt and unable to see a future with CASSANDRA that exists past the friend zone. In a devastating blow that CASSANDRA didnāt see coming, TRISTAN writes leave. With the help of the experts and his wife, TRISTAN recognises that his lack of confidence is holding back their potential to move past friendship ā he apologises profusely and expresses his regret for writing leave.
After a slightly trepidatious start to the experiment MICHAEL and STEPHEN are taking the experiment day by day but STEPHENās walls are proving problematic for MICHAEL as they progress forward in their relationship. Hung up on feeling like heās āsecond choiceā, STEPHEN is guarded and worried, despite MICHAELās attempts to reassure him. However, both reveal a genuine attraction is growing and decide to stay. They agree to follow the advice of the experts by getting out of their heads.
ELLIE has finally had enough of BENās inauthenticity, and the pair have a turbulent time on the couch. ELLIE says she feels as though sheās lost her voice, and this is not the stability she was searching for in a partner prior to coming into the experiment. The experts push BEN and question his intentions based on his actions so far. BEN writes stay, but ELLIE puts BEN on notice by writing leave.
A saddened ANDREA and RICHARD also have a confronting couch session, as for the first time, they reveal there are cracks in their relationship, when ANDREA admits her ābubble has burstā. Despite ANDREAās concerns and RICHARD feeling as though his love may be unrequited, both make the emotional choice to stay.
After a tumultuous Honeymoon, the future of MADELEINE and ASHās relationship remains uncertain at best. ASH is frustrated and confused on the couch as he rehashes the week that was and MADELEINE defends her deep desires to find a true love. In the end, they cannot see eye-to-eye and ASH is left blindsided by MADELEINEās decision to leave the experiment.
JONATHAN and LAUREN were at the centre of muzzle-gate last night, and despite JONATHANās promise to support LAUREN moving forward, JONATHAN chooses his moment to turn his apology towards TORI and JACK for ruining their evening, which leaves LAUREN, and the experts, reeling. But itās not just JONATHANās lack of support that comes under fire from the experts, all the grooms are held accountable for their silence and lack of action last night, as the gravitas of the comment finally sinks in. Despite their differing opinions, both choose to stay another week.
The final couple on the couch is TORI and JACK. Despite presenting yet another united front, itās JACKās comments and actions at last nightās Dinner Party which leave the experts appalled, causing them to question his behaviour and his character. Finally Toriās rose-tinted glasses start to slip as she ponders JACKās controversial comments, but ultimately, they choose to stay in the experiment.
