Anyone wanna make a prediction on ratings for this one? I applaud ten for trying something different but just think it’s too niche and may just get slaughtered in the ratings.
In saying that, I probably would have said the same thing about the first season of masterchef before it premiered.

I think the promos have gone too heavy on the crafting element of the show and it feels too MasterChef esque, the US version includes the comedy side seamlessly too from what I’ve seen.
Looks like the first few minutes of the show.
Apparently Making it is only 10 episodes
I guess with only 13 participants and 10 episodes they can always strip it or extend it next year if it’s successful this year.
Yeah, they’re (probably smartly) testing the water with a shorter season. If it rates well then it will probably come back in a 16 ep season.
Heard that on the TV Blackbox pod… I’m ok with that, less is more and I grow a little tired of tentpoles that stretch 10-12 weeks and run for 60-120 mins a night 4-5 nights a week.
Investment from 10 and all networks in shorter run content keeps the schedule nice and fresh as well.
So they have still expanded it compared to the US seasons (6eps S1, 8eps S2&3). Hopefully the extra contestants/episodes doesn’t stretch it to much.
If it does well I would expect a 16 episode count next season. Probably with 20 contestants.
Spotlight’s Making It section is now up and running. It has more show info than the 10Play website.
The first challenge is rather dull and should have had more of a theme - create an animal, building, nature object, etc. It’s far too vague at the moment.
The show also needs a lot more pace and I’m not sold on the hosts either. Not meeting the judges at the start seems like a mistake too.
I actually think that the hosts are going to be the stars of this thing.
Well made show but suffering the Aussie Reality problem, taking a short snappy show and making it too long and padded out, I watch the US version and the mini challenge is over in about 15 minutes.
Trending #2 in Aus behind Porter.
Viewer reaction seems very positive.
Not watching and not interest but would Australians be enjoying it as they’re not use to the American version which would seem very niche. I’d never heard of it until it came to 10z
