###LOVE IT OR LIST IT AUSTRALIA

Brand new locally-produced property series for Lifestyle.

Foxtel announce today the commissioning of a new locally-produced property show, Love It or List It. Already a hugely successful global franchise, the all-Australian version of the show will pair up Lifestyle’s much-loved real estate expert Andrew Winter and esteemed interior designer Neale Whitaker as they help homeowners decide whether to keep their newly-renovated home, or sell it.

“We are thrilled to announce Andrew and Neale as hosts,” says General Manager of Lifestyle Channels Hannah Barnes. “When we put them together we were blown away by their chemistry and competitive comradery. The beauty of this format is that it covers buying, selling and renovation all in one show so viewers can expect to get fantastic advice and tips with a lot of fun and entertainment along the way.”

Currently filming the tenth season of Selling Houses Australia, Andrew Winter relishes the opportunity to sell even more houses saying “Love it or List it eh? No argument from me - list it! Get the move underway - onwards and upwards as they say. The fact the question has even been asked means it should be time to sell. I intend to show homeowners not only properties they would expect to like, but the unexpected too.”

In the ‘Love It’ corner, Neale Whitaker will redesign homes to help them realise their full potential. Using tight budgets and often recycling items already in the house, he will transform the house and hopefully persuade the owners to stay.

“I’m excited to be pitting my wits against Mr Winter,” says Neale. “Moving house is definitely not the only option. Sometimes it makes financial and emotional sense to renovate - especially if you love your home. I’m here to explore the possibilities, push the boundaries and make sure your home’s a keeper!”

Love It or List It will commence filming in 2017, produced by Beyond Productions exclusively for Foxtel’s Lifestyle.

###Selling Houses Australia - Season 10

From Wednesday 1 March at 8:30pm AEDT

Season 10 kicks off with a very special 100th Episode by selling a home to help the homeless
To celebrate Selling Houses Australia’s milestone 100th episode, and to mark the start of its 10th season, the team will be helping one of the country’s most loved charities - the Salvation Army

What could be more apt than a 100 year old house for the 100th episode? The Salvos have owned a property in one of Sydney’s hottest real estate areas since the 1930s. Over the decades, the Federation-style house in the inner west has been home to several Salvation Army officers and their families. The charity has decided to sell the house to raise much-needed funds for their homeless services – trouble is time has taken its toll on a building which is really showing its age. Enter Andrew Winter, Shaynna Blaze and Charlie Albone! Can the A-team help it reach its potential in the booming Sydney property market?

With profits going back to the Salvation Army, all eyes will be on the auction hammer which will fall just days before the episode goes to air. Joining prospective bidders for the newly-renovated house will be the SHA team, previous tenants of the property, recipients of the Salvation Army’s tireless work with the homeless and the entire inner west street - in what is sure to be street party like no other.

Real estate expert and host Andrew Winter says, “What better way of celebrating a TV milestone than giving something back to the community –the Salvation Army is one remarkable charity that does exactly that. The 100th episode is far more than a little celebration; it is a chance for us all to be reminded of the work these guys do, often in very challenging circumstances. The stories, their history and the classic Aussie home we focus on, will not only raise money for the Salvos but it will be a unique and incredible way to celebrate 100 episodes!”

He continues, "10 years, can that be possible? Obviously I was only 28 when season 1 was commissioned, but more important is how amazing and lucky we are that the show keeps going. It’s all because of the incredible support and loyalty of the Aussie viewing public.”

A decade is a real achievement, and over the years the team has travelled all over Australia performing incredible makeovers for desperate vendors. This series we’re heading to Far North QLD, an island off the SA coast, a dairy farm in rural Victoria and our first property in Tassie.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Foxtel, Lifestyle and all involved in Production for making a show not only watched here, but in many other countries in the world!” Andrew says.

Lifestyle is offering 25 lucky viewers a double-pass to the 100th episode auction in Sydney’s inner west. To enter, head to lifestyle.com.au/sellinghouses. Comp opens on Wednesday 25/01/17 at 9am AEDT.

Selling Houses Australia is produced by Beyond Productions exclusively for Foxtel’s Lifestyle.

HUGE AUCTION RESULT FOR SELLING HOUSES AUSTRALIA’S 100th EPISODE

All profits to go to charity

Foxtel’s hugely successful Lifestyle series, Selling Houses Australia, celebrated its 100th episode on air tonight with an amazing auction result that will see all profits go to one of Australia’s most enduring charities – the Salvation Army.

Returning for its tenth season on Lifestyle, the premiere was an uplifting episode that saw the Selling Houses Australia team – Andrew Winter, Shaynna Blaze and Charlie Albone – making over a home that has been owned by the Salvation Army for nearly 100 years.

The Federation-style house in the inner west, one of Sydney’s hottest real estate areas, was previously used to house Salvation Army officers and their families, and acted as crisis accommodation for the homeless over the years. The charity decided to sell the house to raise much-needed funds, but time had taken its toll on a building which was showing its age. Enter Andrew, Shaynna and Charlie, who stepped in to ensure the house reached its potential in the booming Sydney property market.

The auction was held last Saturday in front of a packed crowd including the SHA team, previous tenants of the property, recipients of the Salvation Army’s tireless work and, of course, prospective bidders.

All eyes were on the hammer as the bids came thick and fast, ultimately pushing the sale price of the property to $2,270,000, a massive $220,000 above reserve. All profits from the sale will go back into funding the work of the Salvation Army’s social services.

###GRAND DESIGNS AUSTRALIA

Season 7 premieres with a Kevin McCloud special

From Thursday 20 April 20 at 8.30pm AEST on Lifestyle

The new season of Grand Designs Australia opens with a one hour special Kevin McCloud’s Top 10 Grand Designs Australia premiering Thursday, April 20 at 8.30pm on Foxtel’s Lifestyle.

Set in historic Homewood House in Surrey, England, Grand Designs Australia host Peter Maddison and Grand Designs host Kevin McCloud sit down with a cup of tea and an old fashioned slide slow to reminisce about the design features of each of the ten homes, selected from the past six seasons.

The design gurus talk cladding, tiles and form, and with whisky in hand, engage in some gentle banter over each other’s take on the architecture of their favourite builds. While the special looks over the past, it also serves as a teaser for the upcoming seventh season.

In Grand Designs Australia, leading Australian architect Peter Maddison follows the process of turning ideas into reality, as people use design and architectural ingenuity to create an environment that best reflects their personality and ideals. Following 14 distinctive houses from concept to completion, the newest season premieres Thursdays from April 27 at 8.30pm on Lifestyle.

Excited about the new season ahead, Peter Maddison said, “Inventive building systems, wondrous materials and memorable form making has been applied to our wide brown land to produce a breathtaking collection of stories.”

Perhaps one of the most unique builds of the season is a Japanese-inspired Queenslander home. Steve the owner was inspired by the minimalistic style of Japan, both architecturally and culturally. He employed a Japanese-based architect and a majority of the design process was conducted through Skype sessions.

Kevin McCloud’s Top 10 Grand Designs Australia will premiere Thursday, April 20 at 8.30pm. The seventh series of Grand Designs Australia will premiere the following Thursday, April 27 at 8.30pm on Lifestyle and is available to watch on Foxtel or Foxtel’s streaming service, Foxtel Play. Following each broadcast, customers can watch Grand Designs Australia any time via Foxtel On Demand, which is available on internet connected iQ boxes, Foxtel Play or enjoyed on the move via Foxtel Go, Foxtel’s mobile app. Foxtel Go and Foxtel On Demand are included with all Foxtel and Foxtel play subscriptions at no extra cost.

###Maggie in Japan

Explore Japan with one of Australia’s favourite cooks

A 60-minute special premiering Wednesday 2 August at 8.30pm AEST

Australian culinary icon Maggie Beer takes viewers on a gastronomic journey across three stunning locations in MAGGIE BEER IN JAPAN, an exclusive new special premiering on Wednesday August 2 at 8.30pm on Lifestyle.

Produced by Lingo Pictures for Foxtel, MAGGIE IN JAPAN follows the celebrated cook as she travels from Tokyo to Noto Peninsular and finally Osaka, inspired by her love of learning and the exciting new challenge of producing a Japanese-inspired feast for her friends back in her hometown of the Barossa.

With the help of both traditional and new wave chefs, Maggie immerses herself in the local food and lives of her culinary guides, experiencing the essence of Japanese cuisine and some of the unique cooking techniques found across the country.

In Tokyo, Maggie joins Koji Fukuda, a former head chef at Luke Mangan’s Salt and now owner of two restaurants in Tokyo. Koji invites Maggie in to his home during her Tokyo visit, preparing her an everyday family meal that provides inspiration for Maggie’s own Japanese feast.

She also meets Kanejiro Kanemoto of Nodaiwa, who is a revered shokunin. A shokunin is a craftsman who devotes his entire life to mastering one dish, and Kanejiro has been cooking eel for the past 60 years.

Finally, keen to get a feel for the younger and more modern chefs of Tokyo, Maggie visits Hideki Ii of Shirosaka, where she experiences food that is a creative interpretation of both Japanese and Western cuisines – including a Japanese-influenced pate’ to rival her own.

Next, Maggie travels to rural Noto Peninsula where she meets Australian chef Ben Flatt and his wife Chikako who run a typical Japanese inn, upholding the ancient traditions of Chikako’s family. Here, Maggie finds a land which has so many similarities to the Barossa, and yet the flavours are so different. Once again, in Ben’s cooking Maggie finds an amalgamation of cuisines, with Ben’s Italian background cleverly influencing the dishes he makes.

Finally, after crossing the country and going south, Maggie arrives in Osaka. Here, she enjoys a “Kappo” style meal at a Michelin-star restaurant, run by second generation chef Osamu Ueno.

After her whirlwind tour, Maggie heads back to the Barossa where she adapts her newfound knowledge to create her own Japanese feast.

The unique dishes Maggie creates clearly illustrates that her search to understand and perfect Japanese flavour techniques has paid off – and has made its way into her own stunning food creations.

MAGGIE IN JAPAN premieres on Wednesday, August 2 at 8.30pm on Lifestyle. Following its broadcast on Lifestyle, the 90-minute special will be available to watch from Foxtel’s on demand library, or streamed on demand on Foxtel’s newly announced streaming service, Foxtel Now.

Love It or List It Australia

From Wednesday 27 September at 8.30pm AEST

Premiering on Wednesday, September 27 at 8.30pm on Lifestyle, Love it or List it Australia is an exciting new locally-produced series aimed at helping home owners make one of their biggest, most life-changing decisions: whether to renovate their house or sell it.

Already a hugely successful global franchise, Love It or List It Australia features leading real estate expert and Selling Houses Australia favourite Andrew Winter and esteemed interiors expert Neale Whitaker, as they compete for the home owners’ final decision to stay or go.

Design guru Neale is firmly positioned in camp “love it” and encourages all the households featured in the series to stay put, as he takes on their extensive renovation wish-lists and budget, showing them how easily they can fall back in love with their current digs.

Andrew is on team “list it” and works hard to convince the owners that listing their house for sale and moving is the best option. But again, with a strict budget and unwavering requirements, Andrew will have a hard time convincing the families to trade in their current abode for something unknown.

For all the home owners, the battle lines are also clearly defined – while one wants to renovate and fix their home’s issues so they can continue to live there, the other wants to renovate purely to sell and purchase a new place.

Each week, the stakes are high as Neale and Andrew put their reputations on the line, while the home owners’ opinions are deeply divided – it’s their future and their own money being spent on the renovations, after all.

At the end of each episode, the couples will face the ultimate domestic dilemma: to love it or list it? In the end, whether it is Neale or Andrew who claims victory, the real winners are the home owners.

Hannah Barnes, General Manager of Lifestyle Channels, said: “Lifestyle has a strong track record producing much loved property shows like Selling Houses Australia, the number one local production on the platform.

“We are thrilled to be launching Love it or List It where we get the opportunity to travel around Australia and, with the help of our dynamic duo Andrew and Neale, help Australian families make the life changing decision of whether to renovate and stay in their homes or sell up and move to something even better.”

Produced by Beyond Productions exclusively for Foxtel, Love It or List It Australia is a 10 x 60 minute series premiering on Wednesday, September 27 at 8.30pm AEST on Lifestyle.
