At the moment AFLW is still a part-time profession. Many current players still have normal jobs during weekdays.
I am sure Erin is capable to hosting a radio show from Monday to Friday, and play footy during the weekend. Plus the AFLW season only takes up the first three months of the year.
What? The fact that she has to find employment, despite being one of our best female AFL players is a pretty poor inditement of the current situation of âprofessionalâ womenâs sport in this country.
Youâre surely just trolling now? Playing one sport at the pointy end is impressive, to be able to do it in multiple sports is just incredible (especially at the levels that the likes of Erin has)
Just because there are some who have been able to waltz from one sport to another, doesnt mean that all who do it should have their achievements diminished - many of whom are clearly capable of playing multiple sports at a high enough level and have had to make a (sometime really difficult) decision for which sport they choose.
How about we fix the real equality issues between mens and womens sports - like what their paid, the status of their competitions and the treatment they get? Lets stop treating womenâs sport like its some kind of special exhibition and start treating it like we do menâs sport
The employment should not interfere with her sporting pursuits. Yes, I agree it is a poor indictment on womenâs sport in this country, but Iâm looking at it at the individual situation. If I were the Crows, I would not want her getting at to do breakfast radio while the season is on. After that, go for her life.
Nope. Itâs called an opinion. You know, what sites like this are supposedly built upon.
I donât care if you happen to be the real life incarnation of Superman/Superwoman when it comes to incredible sporting feats. Erin just so happens to be in the same lane as dipshits like Sonny Bill Williams, Karmichael Hunt, Jarryd Hayne - attention seeking individuals who think theyâre the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sorry, I donât rate them. Erin falls into that category, she gets no special treatment because she is a woman. Neither does Ellyse Perry or Ash Barty.
If you want to call me a troll, fine. But if women want to be treated the same as men, then they need to cop the same heat for their actions. Like Gladys has to, like Juila Gillard has and Margaret Thatcher did. Not everyone likes them because of the crap they have done.
Again, Erin, Ellyse and Ash fall into the same unfortunate situation following in the same path as K.Hunt, Money Bill and whatever prison number Mr Hayne is about to be identified as - attention seeking individuals. Iâm not giving them any special treatment because they are women. I tar everyone with the same brush.
Good luck with that. The major sports bodies will only do that whilst there is money coming in. The sooner the sponsors and media fall out of love with womenâs sport, which I sincerely hope doesnât happen, but with the pigs running the joint at the moment, I wouldnât put it past them, theyâre back to square one.
The only way you are going to get the real equality issues fixed is with a progressive dictatorship government actually telling them to do it, or risk any government funding being stripped from them, and going after anyone holding them back. And since itâs taken an enquiry to finally have pollies becoming liable for sexual harassment, itâs going to be a long hard road.
And for women to run ALL the sports bodies. Theyâre going to have to do it themselves from within.
Plenty of radio broadcasters do extra work outside their job and for different employers. MCing, Lord Mayoring, etc etc. If both parties are happy, whatâs the issue.
Thereâs a difference between doing something where there is a likelihood of potentially having yourself killed and blabbering into a microphone. One very bad knock to the head, and sheâs in a wheelchair not doing anything.
cool doesnât mean your opinions arenât above being criticised. Either defend them or donât. I donât care. But gross-out replies arenât much of anything.
What the hell are you on about? Iâve just had my opinions criticised by all and freakinâ sundry here. Iâve explained my point and Iâm not changing my opinion on it. Call me a misogynistic arsehole if you like, I bet everyone here is.
And it wasnât exactly a gross out reply - Iâve heard it in, on all places, breakfast radio, amongst others.
Bag seems to be of decent quality, and is zippable.
Hat looks to be cheaply made.
Havenât tried the gold microphone as yet.
Waterbottle is meh, had the KIIS logo on the lid.
Sticker is transparent
Bluetooth speaker isnât too bad, canât tune into FM as yet, has USB and micro SD support. Looks similar to speakers Iâve seen for sale in Coles.
Food and drink isâŚmeh.
Couldnât get the glass and shower holderâŚ
Jase and PJ returned to air this morning after the survey break. Jase was in Melbourne and PJ was in NZ, having exited hotel quarantine only yesterday afternoon.
We all knew since Feb or somthis yesr that quarantine free travel would be made available by NZ this month, so why waste two weeks in quarantine when we all knew it was ending?
I believe PJ had the trip booked before any major indications of an announcement. She was just unfortunate enough to time the trip when the trans-Tasman bubble began.
She was returning to New Zealand and some tourists have reported that the quarantine was more interesting than the sights. I believe that some travellers are continuing to volunteer to do the quarantine. Flight Centre still offer it as an option for stays of two weeks or more across the ditch.
