Part of a Facebook post from Robin Bailey - confirms a number of the staff behind the show found other work after being told it was finishing up.

I wonder if that’ll impact the shows performance with a new off air support team?

Glad to know that it wasn’t a stunt. This is the sole cause for the backflip (emphasis mine):

our listeners and clients made their voices heard

I wonder if they’ll have an ACD type role with KIIS97.3 reporting to either DC or DB.

To the average (non Media Spy) person, this story would have very little interest outside of Brisbane, not sure why Today would feel the need to cover it as a story on a national breakfast show - other than media loves reporting on media.

i think that’s why. Also apart from Bondi it’s probably a slow news week.

News specific to one market happens every morning - crashes, traffic, house fires. The breakfast shows make a point of trying to do this so each city’s audience feels they are being served. This was a comparatively short RVO report though compared to some that involve a reporter in the city.

They probably booked that in with Today six weeks ago

On air right now is the final Pick Up ever with Britt and Laura on KIIS.

Former Channel 10 newsreader & SAFM breakfast host Rebecca Morse currently on air this morning on Mix 102.3

Sadly, enjoy it while it lasts. Once KIIS1023 launches, it’ll all come from Sydney outside of Breakfast.

Well done to MC getting more gigs. Hopefully he’ll be included in more regular line-ups in 2026.

He is already with some weekend shifts and that Sunday night program Saucy Secrets.

Does anyone think there’s a small chance that ARN will hold off on any too big of a change for Mix102.3 following their Brisbane decision?

It’d be good if Mix Adelaide at least keeps its current music format, even if the name needs to change to KIIS.

Changing the name doesn’t matter if they keep the same music mix. Just makes branding easier.
