I think Gold 96FM would be ok

From the linked Herald Sun article:

It sounds like the externally employed driver of the car took it for a spin at the end of of his shift, but still more bad PR for KIIS.

Also, did the ARN statement seriously refer to their Thunderbirds as Black Thunders? If so (and it’s not just a transcription error by the Herald Sun) that’s branding 101 mistake and they can expect a cease and decist letter from SCA who own the Black Thunder trademark.

sigh

While grateful that 96fm is not (yet) in a state like KIIS 97.3 where the only thing local is the brekky show, but I honestly think having someone hosting a show in Melbourne from 1pm isn’t a good situation at all, no matter who is hosting the shift.

Workdays should be local.

When will Gold101.7’s workday come from Melbourne?

Is ARN just waiting for the new financial year? We all know it’s coming.

tbh I’m surprised they didn’t flip the switch once Ugly Phil left

I’m sure Phil’s departure acted as an excuse for ARN to implement such a thing.

Mind you, it’d be nice if Rob Duckworth was announced as Phil’s permanent replacement.

I think there could be some content potentially moving both ways

Sydney have those swish new studios in North Sydney to utilise, they could have Steve Fitton / Bill Weaver voice track day shifts for other markets too.

ARN have a bad habit of re-doing studios only to have staff no longer there to utilise them.

  1. ARN Brisbane’s new studios: 4KQ sold to SEN
  2. ARN Brisbane’s new studios: Now only local at Breakfast and Nights
  3. ARN Sydney’s new studios: Soon to be networked out of Melbourne

Maybe there is a reason ARN Sydney put Gold101.7 on a different level. So if they need to chop/change/downsize it’ll be easier to do with minimal disruption to KIIS106.5. Additionally, their Sydney open plan layout means the studios can easily be removed or converted into offices for the sales & admin teams.

Every time I spot the. KIIS 97.3 studio while on a train passing Milton station I think. There’s the ghost studio :confused:no one’s actually on air there after 10am weekdays and on weekends too

Zach and Dom are still there at nights aren’t they?

I didn’t realise they were on air here in Brisbane

Yep, broadcasting out of Brisbane, but can also be heard in Sydney and Melbourne. So it some instance, consider it a national show.

Well, they are. Except they can also be heard in Sydney and Melbourne.
