I just heard on KIIS 101.1 that K&J will be on the Today Show from 9:30am tomorrow morning… switch your TVs to Seven or Ten…

Considering they’re still on air on radio at 9:30am are we expecting the KIIS 973 announcement?
Nothing else was really mentioned on-air from Gordie apart from they’ll be on-air at 9:30am, but if their intention of this is announcing their expansion into Brisbane, then Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunny Coast residents are in for a rude shock.
And it’ll spell the end of KIIS 97.3 being No.1 in Brisbane as listeners turn off…

B105 most of the time with Nova sneaking in there 1 or 2 times a year in recent history. Even Triple M has been up there too.
Hasn’t been KIIS/ 973 in a very long time.

And if K&J expand into the Queensland capital, then KIIS 97.3 will sink to SENQ levels. Sad times…

You make a good point though. Kyle hates David Campbell with a passion. There’s no way he’d ever go on Today Extra. So yeah, someone’s made a mistake there.

It started to decline when they re-branded to KIIS and changed the music.
Adding K&J will only make it go lower … much, much lower.

It might not go to SEN levels, but it’ll drop to 5 or 6%.

Hmm… Let’s not pretend the ratings in Brisbane aren’t still incredibly close. 2.7% between No. 1 and KIIS.
97.3 has dropped 2 - 3 points on average since they re-branded to KIIS and changed the music.
If they want to continue to head downwards then just add K&J and watch them fall to 6%

Radio Ratings come out tomorrow - would be ironic if Robin & Kip gain a point or two and then it is announced that they are on the way out, similar to how Jase and Lauren got an increase before they were axed.

There was a claim KIIS 973 was number one in Brisbane and it’s not so I corrected the claim. I didn’t say it wasn’t close. They’re not number one and that’s the fact.
It would also be interesting if K&J continue to slide further in Melbourne and still announce an expansion to Brisbane.

It’s clearly reached the point now that paying for Kyle and Jackie is a bigger priority than ratings in other states.
If K&J expand into Brisbane at the start of 2025, it would surely be due to a contractual agreement made when they renewed their huge current deal.
Otherwise, based on the Melbourne results, if I was ARN I wouldn’t be jumping at a further expansion just yet.
