Come on guys, peace and love!
These low lives, especially Kyle, are not worth arguing over.
I find it very strange that someone does a glamour photo shoot to reveal their story of drug addiction and rehab.
I find it very timely too - with all this PR and the way it has played out in the lead up to Jackie’s book launch.
Organic content is one clever way to boost book sales.
And that there is the actual question isn’t it.?
“There’s so much people don’t know.”
Well, why do they need to know?
Can absolutely understand and appreciate your point.
I have to say, as someone who’s seen the devastating impacts that drug addiction has on a person, as well as their entire family, I applaud anything that destigmatises addiction. I strongly believe the more it’s spoken about, the less people will suffer in silence.
My uncle took his own life after privately battling addiction. We had no clue. Every single day I wish he had felt comfortable enough to ask us for help.
As we can read from the comments here, addiction isn’t a particularly ‘sexy’ topic, but given it’s so strongly linked to mental illness (if not completely) it’s helpful for its awareness to be raised.
I acknowledge I’m in the minority here, but I applaud Jackie for using her profile and platform to speak about something so important.
I also applaud anyone who shares their struggles with addiction in an effort to help others who have or are struggling with the same. Same goes for any health or social issue.
The thing I have a problem with is how this struggle might be used as publicity to sell a book or promote a radio show.
agree.
From News.com.au: Sex addict tells all: I slept with 400 people in two years
And guess who he is a producer for?
Yeah sounds like an ARN employee. Lol
Far out. The rape and self-harm stuff he outlines is heart breaking. Hope he’s doing okay.
They’re gonna run out of stories to tell pretty soon.
Another one selling a book! I have complete sympathy and empathy with addiction having given up alcohol 38 years ago end of this December. I am proud of my sobriety but it’s a private personal thing, doesn’t seem to be to these two! These people are just publicity whores!
That’s just not true. To say that sex talk isn’t the essence of the show is simply delusional.
Completely agree.
Can anyone in this forum give an example of when K&J were family-friendly?
They’re really going hard on the feel good approach. Well done to the PR guys putting a different spin on the show.
Only problem is, they’re making this shift too obvious for any long-term listeners.
And now (whether the intent was there last week or not) used to raise funds with Jackie saying today that all proceeds will go into drug rehabilitation. A great exercise in philanthropy
Probably a reaction to the criticism.
