I think they would do local news windows on their half hourly bulletins which could be pre recorded and then live bulletins on the hour. You know how Kyle likes to interject and comment on the news!

Totally cool - not having a go at you. Just thinking out loud as to when the launch date would make sense. I’ve based some of it off what Kyle said during his chat with Byron last week. There are certainly a lot of different thoughts and rumours about when they’ll launch. I work in agency sales and apparently we’ll be briefed this week about the KJ Melbourne plans.

Why do Kyle and Jackie O need to be so vile?
As first reported by Australia’s Daily Telegraph, the “Saltburn” and “Euphoria” star was at a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs when he was approached by Joshua Fox, a producer for “The Kyle & Jackie O Show” on KIIS FM. According to Fox’s account of the situation on the show Monday morning, he asked Elordi if he could have some of his bathwater for Jackie O for her birthday — a reference to a viral scene in “Saltburn.” Elordi asked Fox to stop filming and delete the footage, and then the situation allegedly escalated.

Nova 100.3 and Fox/Hit 101.9 don’t have their music pitched up, whereas KIIS 101.1 has it at +2%.
IMO, it works well with dance music, and some pop music, but otherwise can sound unpleasant for other genres such as Rock (KIIS obviously doesn’t agree and/or care)
(Image attached of recordings from each station, and what’s funny is it was barely a challenge to get all three recordings of the same track, “Tyla - Water”, as they all played it within 20 minutes of each other.)
To put simply, it appears KIIS is alone in their “pitched up/loudness war” ordeal, with the others seldom interested.
Of course, just my opinions based on my observations, and nothing more.

When 92.9 was attached to the Hit network they did this as well.
Growing up, people thought I was crazy until the same song would play on another station slightly later and they’d pick up on it.

I’m pretty sure both Fox and Nova have done it in the past. Are you able to compare against an “original” version. Is it possible that Fox and Nova are also pitching up, but less so than KIIS? It may also be that they pitch up some songs, but not others.

I can recall Fox and KIIS pitching songs in the past, AFAIK Nova never has.

From memory I do recall Fox doing it in the past, but compared with the original, there is no shift in pitch whatsoever.
The theory that it might just be some songs could be true, but so far I’ve yet to hear it, even with that Marshmello/Pink dance track. I’ll keep an eye on it from time to time just in case.

I genuinely hope their decision to bring K&JO backfires for KIIS - Jase and Lauren hit a high at the end of the last survey so hopefully they continue to gain traction at Nova.

I don’t see them working in Melbourne. That market isn’t into that aggressive, shouty radio that seems to do so well in Sydney.
