Sports stars move in together to launch Kayo’s new brand campaign, ‘Sport Lives Here’
Kayo Sports has revealed its new brand campaign, ‘Sport Lives Here,’ showcasing the sports streaming platform’s unrivalled sports offering and featuring some of Australia’s biggest sports stars, coaches and commentators, including Dustin Martin, Luke Keary, Ellyse Perry, Cam Waters, and more.
The campaign, created in partnership with Special Group Australia, shows what life would be like if Australia’s biggest sports stars lived together, as they do on the Kayo platform offering over 50 sports in the one place. The result being a house where Anthony Hudson commentates Dustin Martin’s every move and some of Australia’s best athletes tackle the challenge of furniture assembly.
‘Sport Lives Here’ will run nationally across TV, OOH, Press, Radio, Social and Digital and aims to reinforce the unrivalled depth and breadth of sport on Kayo. The campaign will launch with two hero TV spots, “Commentary” and “Voicemail,” with other spots like “Grocery Run” running across Social and Digital channels, tapping into the relevance of specific sports.
Kim McConnie, Marketing Director, Kayo Sports, said: “Nothing compares to Kayo and its world leading offering. We wanted to launch a campaign that truly reflected the unmatched 50+ sports proposition that Kayo has, and we’re incredibly proud of the fact that ‘Sport Lives Here’ is a campaign that only Kayo could run.
“Kayo’s line-up over the winter months is unmatched, with every AFL and NRL game of every round, plus all the action from Formula OneTM, the Repco Supercars Championship, NBA regular season and Finals, The Masters and The America’s Cup just to name a few.
“At Kayo, we have created a single arena for sport with an award-winning user experience, and our new campaign ‘Sport Lives Here’ will showcase our unrivalled depth and breadth, opening up Australians to the more than 50 sports available Live and on-demand on Kayo. By recruiting some of the country’s most well-known athletes, we’re showing Aussies just how incredible over 50 sports under one roof looks.”
Tom Martin, Partner & CCO at Special Group Australia, said: “We wanted to show people what life would look like if all the world’s best athletes from over 50 sports, literally did live together as they do on the Kayo platform. The consequences of how they manage their ‘home’ has proven to be a really engaging way to bring a broader audience in beyond the sport nuts.”
This winter, Kayo will stream every game of every round of the 2021Toyota AFL Premiership Season and 2021 NRL Telstra Premiership Season, plus over 50 other sports Live & On Demand. The Sport Lives Here campaign is live nationwide today.
Has that tagline, ‘Sport Lives Here’ been used for another network before? It sounds familiar.
I could only find a lapsed trademark for Network 10 from about 2010, possibly used for One HD?
Though I know they used ‘Sharing One Passion. Sport’ during their initial launch.
Yeah I’m pretty sure One HD used “Sport Lives Here” around that time during On-Air Promos.
“Sport lives here… except rugby”
I believe Kayo subscribers can still watch Six Nations (from beIN Sports).
‘Kayo Freebies’ has launched today. For those curious, here’s a list of the events (at least from what I could find) which will available to stream for free this weekend:

-
Sheffield Shield: VIC v NSW (today - Sunday)
-
Bowls: Premier League - Day #4 (5pm AEDT tonight)
-
W-League: Newcastle v Adelaide (6pm AEDT tonight)
-
ATP Tennis: Singapore Semifinals (4pm AEDT tomorrow)
-
LaLiga: Sevilla v Barcelona (2am AEDT Sunday)

-
ATP Tennis: Singapore Final (7pm AEDT Sunday)
-

Kayo has a page which lists all of the free events which will be offered each week (eg; the Perth v Central Coast A-League game + the 1st NZ v England women’s T20 match will be offered next week)
There’s also a range of other free content ranging from replays (eg; yesterday’s Perth v Sydney W-League game + Premier League lawn bowls), shows (eg; all of last year’s Supercars Life episodes) and short clips from Fox Sports News
Theres’ actually a lot of things there that I wasn’t expecting them to put on for free.
I think they are going to put heaps on, so they can potentially say to sports in the future “we have the FTA component, you don’t have to give anything to anyone else”.
NINE NRL TRIAL GAMES AVAILABLE LIVE ON KAYO THIS WEEKEND
As they should - Foxtel got into some heat for getting that grant money. At least they’re making it available freely.
AFLW
(Already streamed by the AFL for free)
WBBL
(No-doubt will be the Cricket Network simulcasts)
Croquet
(How happy I am to not have to pay to watch that! )
Dragon Boating
(As above)
Ah yes, Fox are really allowing the masses access.
Water Polo Australia partners with News Corp Australia in new broadcast deal
In an Australian first, News Corp Australia is teaming up with Water Polo Australia as part of a national live streaming and broadcast partnership.
The deal will see the Australian Waterpolo League (AWL) and Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) live streamed across the News Corp Australia mastheads, with delayed replays of the AWL finals and the Australia Green v Gold Exhibition Series shown on KAYO.
Across the two major events more than 140 water polo matches will be streamed.
Brisbane will host both events, with the Australian Waterpolo League to be held 31 March to 7 April and Australian Youth Water Polo Championships from 7-17 April 2021.
Water Polo Australia CEO Richard McInnes, said the deal with News Corp is the most comprehensive broadcast partnership in the sport’s history.
“We are excited to be partnering with News Corp for our marquee events to deliver more live water polo than ever before.
“Not only does News Corp offer a great platform for water polo fans, but it provides us with a unique opportunity to reach new fans as part of a fully integrated media solution.
“To have the ability to stream live more than 140 games with replays across leading dedicated sports broadcaster KAYO, gives us the chance to showcase the very best of our sport from the grassroots clubs competition through to our elite, including our Australian Olympic squad members,” he said.
News Corp’s Executive Editor of Digital, Bryce Johns, said it was the first national streaming partnership the publishing division had done.
‘‘Water polo is a progressive sport and streaming is a great innovation in the publishing world. It’s a match made in heaven.’’
The games will stream across The Courier-Mail, The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, The Herald-Sun and Adelaide’s The Advertiser, plus many of the company’s regional websites.

*You need to be a member to read the story, but once a member, you’ll be able to watch all games. Matches will appear prominently on the homepage of the sites when team’s from their state are involved, and in the sport bucket otherwise.

It’s strange that the events aren’t being shown live on Kayo and instead restricted to the News Corp masthead website (ie; where next to no-one will access them)
