Now this woman is smiling. Wtf is going on?
This is a very awkward conference.
“I’m not media trained” oh dear.

I think she’s nervous (she mentioned she is not media trained) and also very much exhausted.
The officers on the ground (under the Commissioner) are overall acting in a manner moreso that the community would expect.
Given the bodies have now been found, I think it may be appropriate to close this thread.
Further speculation is not of benefit to any party.
Regardless if she’s not media train. This is a serious matter
This is to discuss the media coverage though, not the actual case.
If so, some much heavier moderation is required, many of the comments and speculation above are not of that context.
This is the plan.
Police officers have to have the ability to disassociate themselves from their work and any emotional connection to it to help them do their jobs properly. I’m sure she’s aware it’s a serious matter but she’s also not media trained and is running on a lack of sleep, hardly a matter worth worrying too much over.
That was the original plan but it’s been allowed to go off course a little given the intersection of media and the story itself. We will close it soon/this evening.
Why? Just because the bodies have been found doesn’t mean it’s over.
So, why exactly is the Police Commissioner of the most populated state of the country not media trained? This is hardly the first or last time she’ll have to address the media on a case that’s rattled the community.
We aren’t talking about the police commissioner.
They were referring to the lead investigator not the commissioner.
Seven’s press conference finished at 3.53pm. Ann Sanders appeared, and was recapping what happened, with Robert Ovadia joining her on the table to discuss further.
Wise choice, since Seven’s Afternoon News starts at 4pm. No point going to “normal coverage” for 7 minutes.
Seven and Nine will continue with coverage up to the 4pm news.
10 is covering other stories in what would otherwise have been the 3.30pm news.
It feels like a natural conclusion to close the thread. Developments will not be as regular and media coverage not as heavy.
