Versant has said it will honor whatever sports commitments its channels are involved in, as long as the deal is signed before the spinoff.
It does not change anything.

Fox Sports US has revealed its coverage plan for next year’s FIFA World Cup. 69 of the 104 matches will be shown live on Fox with the other 35 to air on Fox Sports 1.
Well partially empty.
Actually this should have been rolled out nationally. They just tap an agency to make a separate V2.
It caused a total disconnection - on purpose or not - from the rest of the package.
I don’t think the CSN’s have ever debuted the new packages at the same time as the network since they started using NBC stuff. They always wait about a year or so.
They are probably not going to use the national package for one reason only: The typeface is not Ringside.
That doesn’t gel with NHL and MLB, the sports NBC doesn’t have national rights for. Or, well, all other sports NBC has national rights TBH.
You can see the difference between the international feed of ad boards and the local version in this clip:
Interesting move by Hong Kong network TVB for its coverage of the 15th China National Games, which had its opening ceremony on Sunday night. From yesterday until the closing ceremony on November 21, TVB is using its second channel Pearl (which carries English-language programs with occasional Mandarin programs in daytime) to cover the night session from 7pm to 10.30pm, so as not to interrupt normal programming on its main channel Jade. However, since the night session commentary is only in Cantonese, Pearl viewers will need to switch to Viu TV or Hoy TV for English-language shows.
Not surprising given how unloved Pearl (and English-language TV channels in general) is in recent years.
They’ve done similar things to the channel too when both channels took the LOL (e-sports) tournament finals live last Saturday. Jade dropped out for their primetime shows AND National Games after 30 minutes of pre-game variety and the first hour of the match, while Pearl stayed with it and even overran after 10pm. The match’s commentary was only in Putonghua and Cantonese, but I guess it’s slightly more creative and trend-chasing than rehashing old movie sequels…
No luck over there - their English channels are also in simulcast mode, complete with Cantonese commentaries, except for HoyTV’s pre-existing commitment with Bloomberg TV from 8pm onwards.
Slightly off topic, Pearl’s programming has been quite poor in recent years. The first-run programs is basically fully seasons of MasterChef Australia (one year after premiere on Lifetime Asia) and MasterChef USA, plus documentaries and repeat movies. If you want UK dramas you will have to subscribe to Now TV.
Anybody have anything from TNT’s Ashes? How are their stints working?
Not sure why they are resorting to use Fox feed sans audio. Really aid score understanding for UK viewers. /s
So they’re calling over Fox pictures is that right?
Who’s calling? What was the graphics for their non-match coverage like?
