International Sports Presentation

The Baseball one was really good. The NFL one to me felt too much like an attempt to mimic the CBS graphics of the day. I’d gladly take it back over what we saw today though.

The 2017 one was the same throughout Fox with their local Fox sports NBA, MLB, NHL, College Basketball etc. it was the same theme with a box for MLB & NHL & a similar rectangular scorebug for the basketball

Why did Fox use the Fortnite font? Trying to appeal to 11 year olds?

I’ll give Fox’s graphics one thing today- they were nice and clear to read whenever I needed to step out and I was watching on my phone.

Definitely too big and ugly if you’re watching on TV however- and I don’t know if it was just me (or the picture quality on Channel 7) but the lettering on the team abbreviations seemed a tad fuzzy around the edges too.

It was fuzzy for everyone.

God, that’s miles better than what was on Fox.

Fox just need to drop the font size. Just too in your face.

I can’t stand score bugs that take the length of the screen so no I hope 7 or Fox Footy don’t go down that path for the footy this year.

The fuzziness seemed to have been caused by a bevel around each letter. Would have been better to have plain letters.

This was better

And better still

This should have been the scorebug. It’s soo much better than what they actually had

Apparently, a looping ad for TNT Sports is the only thing that remains on the former Eurosport UK channels, plus a brief tribute from Rob Hatch at the end of cycling coverage. Shame, really, for one of the cornerstones of British sport broadcasting.

After nearly a year of experimenting, Viaplay TV is to be relaunched as a standalone paid channel from mid-March, in addition to a new Viaplay TV+ channel for the ‘best of’ Viaplay live events. The SBS9 name will return to Dutch TV.

Sky Sports are shaking up their Formula 1 punditry team and has confirmed that Jacques Villeneuve is set to make a comeback for more appearances in 2025.

Stepping into the punditry spotlight, Jamie Chadwick is joining the Sky team. A three-time W Series titleholder, Chadwick, aged 26, will juggle her debut on the punditry stage with competing in the European Le Mans Series in 2025.

Sky retains its core presenting and reporting team, with Simon Lazenby leading the line-up and Natalie Pinkham and Rachel Brookes offering support. Ted Kravitz remains a fixture as one of the pit lane reporters, alongside Craig Slater who continues as Sky Sports News’ F1 correspondent.

David Croft, whose voice has become synonymous with F1 broadcasts, keeps his position as the lead commentator, with Sky having announced that Harry Benjamin will resume his role as deputy, indicating Croft will not cover every race in the 2025 calendar.

Martin Brundle, recently honoured with an OBE, remains a key part of the punditry team at the age of 65. He is set to continue thrilling fans with his famed grid walk feature before each race he attends.

Danica Patrick also returns as a member of Sky Sports’ F1 commentary team.

Ffs!!! She is unwatchable. Just atrocious in the role. Has no clue about F1 and her arrogance is astounding. Sky does itself no favors with her. She shoudlve been dumped.

It’s not even that she’s a diversity pick, like Sky have got 4 more than capable women on their team (Collins, Schiff, Pinkham, Brookes) plus Jamie who we will wait and see how she is.

EDIT - It’s probably because Sky is carried on ESPN and knowing them, they’d probably be wanting an American face/voice on their screens.
