With the BBL, apart from the Fox exclusive games, 7 has the world feed but I think the UK still uses Fox broadcast since at least last season
In 2014 CBC/TSN lost NHL rights to SN/Rogers until the end of the 2026/27 season. Previously HNIC was a CBC-produced event
The updated look on Fox for key out-of-town game scores:
CBS had theirs out again, slightly modified from last year. Seven weren’t too bothered about moving their watermark this year, it sat over the top of the box for the whole game.
Seven are taking an alternative feed for the coverage of the Texans-Browns Wild Card game instead of a direct feed from NBC. The NBC commentary from Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge is still present, but there are generic NFL graphics and the halftime show was not shown.
The same feed TVNZ is taking (they seem to have the same pack of games that 7 runs).
Presume NFL Network is running this as a quasi world feed (obviously won’t be on NFL Network in US).
I saw people in the UK also mentioned they were getting the same feed, so you might be right. Does anyone know if ESPN here have the same feed?
ESPN Au/NZ is running the NBC feed (including graphics)
Ah, Stubbsy (and not talking about Rennae Stubbs previously of Seven’s later tennis years fame) but Chris, formerly HSV-7 in the 2000s, Fox Sports (including London 2012) and a few years ago came back to Seven covering Supercars producing and the odd news producing/filed report and now at Nine working for Stan.
Stan Sport of course offer some special coverage of the AO, including a morning show with Neroli Meadows (previous Fox Sports star) and Wally Masur - imagine they might appear on TA’s world feed too?
Nine and TA really do seem to have such a good, collaborative relationship.
ESPN AU/NZ very briefly took that world feed (lasted for about a minute) for the start of the MIA/KC game before switching back to the Peacock/NBC feed. I know that there’s additional advertising opportunities for the NFL in producing a world feed, but there really seems to be no point in this case, especially if the commentary is the same, and is visually an inferior product.
Elsewhere, there’s a Top Rank Boxing card that’s on ESPN+ in the US, with the main event airing on the main ESPN network - yet despite it airing on basic cable in the US, Fox Sports here is choosing to charge $49.95 to watch it on Main Event…
I can only guess it removes the NBC promotions for Peacock etc and is cleaner from an international perspective who may have different laws around advertising.
And yes, that feed switch was interesting!
Same as NFL Game Pass
That’s not uncommon if an Australian is in the main event title fight.
What happened was MIA/KC was a game that only aired on Peacock (except in Miami & Kansas where it was simulcasted on NBC). ESPN was carrying NBC’s feed for the CLE/HOU game which also showed the intro of MIA/KC. When that game started though, NBC stayed on air for around 15 minutes with their studio team doing look-ins into the MIA/KC game in order to drive people to Peacock. As such, there were two separate feeds and ESPN probably didn’t realise they needed to switch feeds.
Having said that though, it was very well handled in the circumstances and no game action was missed during the feed switching.
Nothing to see here, same as the broadcast games and how they did the exclusive game earlier this season.
