He’s acting in that ministry because its incumbent (David Coleman) is on indefinate leave - he’s also the Minister for Population, Cities and Urban Infrastructure, but I believe (from what i saw on ABC News yesterday) he’s appearing to talk about Hong Kong as the Immigration Minister
Stan Grant is great on the Insiders discussion panel today. He should be on television more.
He did.
I would have Stan on the Insiders panel once a month,Stan guest hosted The Drum for two nights this week and is reporter/host for Monday’s Four Corners.
Today’s program started with the political interview, rather than talking with the panelists then doing the interview:
Shalailah is from Triple J’s Hack program. Is this her first appearance on Insiders?
No - she was on the panel a few weeks ago
Be interested in other’s thoughts on David Speers performance in the chair so far this year and the tweaks to the show format.
Noticed that Twitter lights up every Sunday morning with some less than complimentary feedback (it is Twitter, so hardly surprising), it doesn’t take much scrolling to the find the words “Murdoch stooge” or similar…
I think he’s done a great job so far.
As for those who say he is a ‘Murdoch stooge’, clearly they never considered that Speers was one of the only presenters on Sky News that was balanced in his analysis and credible in his role.
the more I watch it, the more I think they should have retired the format after Barrie left and looked at something new.
That’s nothing against David, but I think the format has kind of run its time. I hoped that shining a light on the lack of diversity on the panel earlier this year might shake things up a bit, but it appears not.
Sunday 6 September-
Stan Grant will be on the panel this week.
Sunday 13 September-
Sunday 20 September-
I think this is Scott Morrison’s first appearance on Insiders this year based on previous posts. Josh Frydenburg has already been on the show three times.
And he couldn’t even be arsed getting out of bed and doing it live. Recorded Friday. What a leader.
Miss the days of ‘Meet the Press’!
