Please explain? What are you talking about?
It does look very Ten-like these idents, very young skewing. Not sure why they even spend the time and creative doing them when they are a Nine relay anyway.
I think most people donât keep up to date with this thread, so saw it active but it jumped back to the idents post made here - Imparja Television - #894 by Abesty - rather than the post about the IMP watermark.
Thatâs still one of the dumbest watermarks on TV - if you want to tell people youâre on Imparja, put the Imparja logo on screen - I donât think many people make the association when they see âIMPâ on screen.
they donât think âIMPâ=Imparja?
They probably think devils run it (Imps).
Youâd have to already know youâre watching Imparja to know thatâs what IMP stood for, and as far as I understand it, they are now a dirty feed of Nine, so 90% of the time youâd be hearing âNineâ mentioned, and only in the news/sports programming do they decide to add on the âImpâ, so I wouldnât think normal people would have much awareness of why it was there.
Especially indeed in the case mentioned - being on the Spirit of Tasmania is indeed the only time Iâve ever watched Imparja, and youâd have absolutely no context for it being on screen if youâre just casually watching a TV in one of the common areas.
Is that a new logo on their website?
I donât think this has been mentioned yet, but the Remote Central & Eastern broadcasters switched their terrestrial services to MPEG-4 late last year. Source: Upgrade - Imparja Television
Yes - just announced a few days ago, actually:
Imparja Televisionâs Logo Rebrand
Weâre excited to unveil Imparja Televisionâs new logo, created by the incredibly talented Keioni Lander, a young emerging local artist and the founder of @mullamulla.art.
Keioni has beautifully woven her artistic vision into the design, representing Alice Springs as the central meeting place-symbolised by the circle at the heart of the logo. The surrounding lines reflect the six states we proudly broadcast to, while the circle also represents Imparjaâs satellite dish, connecting communities far and wide.
This new logo is deeply connected to Imparjaâs roots, with colours and style inspired by our original logo when we first began. Itâs a tribute to where we started, a celebration of where we are now, and a symbol of where we want to go.
Weâre proud to share this journey with you and honored to have Keioniâs vision shape our future.
According to the Facebook video of the announcement, the artist was approached by the broadcaster last year:

Looks pretty nice but the small details might be a problem. More distinctive than the 9 dots too IMO, which may give them their own voice IF they decided to leave Nine and become an independent community broadcaster.
Logo looks good. At least they got rid of Dotty from the main logo, which is a big thing for a company owned by, and claiming to represent, the community in that part of the world.
You are right, it is a bit of an issue when you make it smaller, and nearly all logos have to have that scalability aspect for apps, websites, socials, etc.
Now they need to reinstate some news and local programming.
More distinctive than the 9 dots too IMO, which may give them their own voice IF they decided to leave Nine and become an independent community broadcaster.
If they left Nine and became an independent broadcaster, would they maintain 24/7 programming and how would they do this? Could it be possible that Imparja might go back to being a dual Nine and Ten affiliate to ensure the stations long term longevity. A consideration here could be the closure of Ten Mildura last year. Imagine Imaprja breaking away from Nine viewing at 11:30am weekdays for whichever 7:30pm reality show they didnt air the night before, then take Ten feed from 1pm til say 5pm. Deal or No Deal might be a filler show if the reality show ends earlier.
I wont go further above at risk of going into mock schedule territory, but its a way it Imparja could dual programming during the ratings year, unless they had 2 sctraigh dedicated main channels on the Imparja LCNs
Seeing their logo change as Nine & Win look to cosy up to each other does look interesting.
Will Imparja ever go out from under Nine and affiliate with 10 in the regions?
I suspect that logo is just going to be on stationary and the like - itâs an âImparja Televisionâ logo in the same sense WIN still have the mappy-WIN Network logo, but are Nine on air and in every way that matters.
This previous logo filled a similar role, but to my knowledge wasnât used in this form on air
Agree, it will probably just be a corporate logo, Imparja wouldnât have the money to redo Nineâs promos etc and Nine probably wouldnât let them anyway.
Will we see much of a difference on-air? Outside of idents, isnât the only time the Imparja logo appears is on the sponsor boards which havenât been updated in almost a decade (same as metro)?
Their watermark is also a plain âIMPâ with no dots.
Pretty sure theyâre just taking the Nine watermark now.
Iâd like to imagine theyâd run their own idents based off this, like when they had the red box embossed with their logo, but I donât think their budget runs that deep. Iâm surprised they even did thisâŚ
I got excited for 5 mins when I saw this logo. Since I got my Hubbl boxes I dont watch 9 or SCA Central 7/10. Got sick of the crap picture quality and the same endless CSAs that have been on air for thr past 6 years. I can confirm nothing has changed on air though, still essentially just a relay of 9 with either QLD or NSW news depending on your location. Shame⌠Imparja is a shadow of its former self.
