I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

It’s a good idea, but no idea of the breakouts that might happen in January, and it just takes that one person from outside delivering food or looking after the cleaning etc to bring it in and essentially shut down production.

You put the cast and crew into a bubble for the duration of filming. This show is completely isolated and one of the safest to do from that perspective. They have managed to film almost every show through this pandemic in Australia. The Masked Singer is the only one that had major difficulties but for perspective this was during stage 4 of the biggest outbreak in Australia. They were still able to continue and finish it off two weeks later.

I guess if a crew member got the covid then they would need to shut down the production, in a similar way to Big Brother had to do. I really don’t think this is a terrible idea. I don’t think we will a lot of live television anymore. It is quite wise to film things beforehand to avoid situations like The Masked Singer.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the only live programs on Australian TV will be sport and news/current affairs-based content, even long after the pandemic is over.

Also wouldn’t mind predicting that prior to this year, a surprising amount of people wouldn’t have been aware just how far in advance some primetime shows are produced before going to air!

I know, but there will be some contact with the outside world needed. There is no way they would go 6 weeks without any need for someone outside to cross over. Whether it be bringing food/supplies medical etc.
Trust me id prefer a live option.

How on earth will they police the celebs not being 1.5m apart at all times even in the camp?

Obviously they won’t be. They’ll be tested before hand and be allowed to not social distance like Big Brother.

And same with the bachelor.

From that article seems like maybe 10 had asked some celebrities and some have said no rather than pulling out like the article has suggested.

Ah yes of course. Those programs too.

Beverley McGarvey on the changes to the new season:

The filming part of the show will be a little bit different for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is because at certain points there might be different markets that wish to come in to use the site, so it’ll be filmed a little ahead of schedule this time.

The voting mechanism will have to change due to the production methodology so we will talk about that closer to the time. There will be certain elements of the show towards the back-end that are live.

Given the year it is and the tone that people are looking for, we’ll really steer into that comedy and fun and that’s where Celebrity works best, where people are having fun.

So maybe celebrities will vote among themselves similar to Big Brother to eliminate someone, until the final three is revealed?

Worth noting that the only other version (I believe) which use the NSW site - Germany - have confirmed they’ll film in the UK, so that is no excuse now for not filming whilst the show airs.

However I think the need to get content in the can whilst they can is probably the real justification for pre-recording - but just be honest about it.

Promo for 2021

Now this is ridiculously early. God help 10 viewers for the rest of the year.

Same time as last year. They announced their first celebrity on melbourne cup day.

I always love the on air presentation for I’m a Celeb’s promos

Wasn’t he already on? I’ve forgotten whose been on already… Tim Bailey would be interesting and I assume a lot would be edited out of what he thinks about Ten lol Pete would cause a lot of controversy.

You are probably thinking of Merv Hughes
