Hunted

They don’t upload shows with regularity. Some days they will upload something straight after it broadcasts. Other times it will be 2 or 3 days later.

You can never find anything that recently broadcast easily. It’s usually takes heaps of scrolling through to find it or you need to search by typing out the name of the show. They put American series before Australian series on the home page and they always have old shows ahead of new shows.

For years, they have been slack with uploading Entertainment Tonight. They show an edited version of each episode in the afternoons because their repeats of reality run way over time. For a long time they would only upload this edited version on 10play so we would miss the whole episodes. Now they repeat the whole episode next morning and then upload the whole episode later that day. Slack!

Their library is full of empty show tiles too with no episodes, has been like that for years.

And the shows page hasn’t been working properly for a few weeks with the filters at the top not working such as popular or new and neither is the A-Z search function.

The app is worse, I’ve mentioned this before (and it’s still the same) but when you go to shows and select say drama for example, the first 9 options don’t even have any episodes to watch and haven’t had for a long time.

It’s like nobody from the organisation actually uses the site, or cares really.

Dude I’ve been using Tubi lately just to see what it’s like and I have to say for a free service even the Tubi app is run and functions a lot better than both of these.

The preview for tonight’s episode shows one of the ground hunter teams using a drone and sniffer dogs to look for a fugitive couple at night. Did the producers change the rules so that it could be done in the dark?

This is from The Age Green Guide article last year.

Tonight’s episode began on day 12 (nine days until extraction), two days after Byron and Tanase were captured (in last Tuesday’s episode).

Fugitive Besties Caught In Wild Chase.

Hunted. Captured: Elerrina and Sonja, Queensland.

Tonight on Hunted, Bayan and Eesha’s burner phone led the Hunters to a Caravan Park in Warrnambool, but despite their best efforts, the duo remain on the run. And a phone intercept followed by a late-night stake-out saw the Hunters swoop in on besties Sonia and Ellerina.

Bayan and Eesha’s comprehensive communications system made them feel very safe within the Ocean Grove Pickle Ball community. However, little did they know the Hunted Cyber team had tracked their burner phone and access to their call records. After scouring phone records Hunted Team Cyber’s traced a call to associate Merryl’s house, and found that Merryl had recently driven Bayan and Eesha to a campsite in Inverleigh. Later, the Hunted team received another ping when the Fugitives used their burner phone in a Warrnambool Caravan Park. Knowing their window was limited, the Chief immediately deployed a specialist drone team, chopper and Hunted Team Bravo’s sniffer dog, to sweep the caravan park, but alas, there were no signs of the Fugitive pair. Bayan and Eesha were out of range.

Meanwhile, Ed and Jimi, who have been camping for most of the last 12 days, decided to recharge their batteries by visiting Jimi’s long-time friends, Craig and Linda. After learning about an upcoming nearby Pride Festival, Ed and Jimi had decided this could be the best way to find random people willing to help them. Simultaneously, back at Hunted HQ, Forensic Psychologist Dr. Karla Lopez had flagged that the boys might attend the Pride Festival, leading to the deployment of Hunted Teams Bravo and Charlie to search for them among the crowds. Fortunately for Ed and Jimi, they had a change of heart at the eleventh hour, dodging the grasps of the Hunters.

Hiding out in Footscray, Fugitive besties Sonja and Elerrina were paranoid and eager to keep moving. The besties planned to meet another associate, Daniel, in a remote park and use his phone to arrange accommodation. They carefully called Elerrina’s associate, ‘Ranger Benny’, to make their plan and then made a second call to their friend, Leeroy Brown, which unfortunately for them, was on full intercept by Hunted HQ. When Daniel’s phone pinged near the park, Ground Hunter Team Charlie raced to their location but missed the Fugitives by a split hair. The besties were already on their way to meet ‘Ranger Benny’ and stay with him, where they were working for board and food at Gumbuya World Wildlife Park.

Hunted HQ then intercepted Daniel’s phone, which proved to be a golden ticket, providing access to call records from the duo. Hunted Cyber Team traced one of the numbers to Ranger Benny’s house, leading Hunted Team Echo, to stake out. When Hunted HQ also discovered that Benny was a ranger at the nearby Wildlife Park, they knew his arrival from work would be imminent, and most likely he would be with Sonja and Elerrina, so they quietly waited in the dark for Benny to return home. Upon their arrival and under the cover of darkness, Hunted Team Echo blocked the driveway and zeroed in on the besties, Sonja and Elerrina, who up until that point were certain they were safe. They were wrong, and their time on the run was over.

I’m wondering if the scheduled in a night where the hunters could hunt and fugitives could (or maybe we’re even required to) move.

The team that got caught tonight were travelling at around midnight.

That’s what I came here to find out too as remembered one of the unwritten rules last year was they couldn’t move at night.

Must say though these Sunday episodes are a real slog. I know that’s not unique to Hunted with their feature length episodes but they really do drag compared to the shorter 50 minute episodes. The extra 20 minutes is footage that should be on the cutting room floor. Also noteable this version is filmed much more from the Hunter’s perspective than the UK edition (which is generally 6 x 45 minute episodes) which is much more about the fugitives.

So are they just allowed to break into people’s houses now?

Bayan And Eesha’s Burner Phone Blunder.

Tonight on Hunted, a search of Fugitive couple Holly and Josh’s apartment turned up a vital piece of information. Father son duo, Jordan and Tharren continued to taunt the Hunters, but it was when Bayan and Eesha took a risk using their burner phone, that the Hunters raced to Richmond.

The notoriously elusive fugitive pair Bayan and Eesha headed to Melbourne’s CBD after a chance encounter with a stranger, who offered up use of their apartment. Without a worry in the world, they meditated and manifested while making their way to the new safe haven.

Meanwhile, father son Fugitives, Tharren and Jordan, had remained off the grid for the majority of the Hunt. Feeling confident, they sent a decoy package to the Hunted HQ, using postcards from various towns they had driven past to mislead the Hunters. As the Hunters received the package, they were impressed by the Fugitives’ confidence, but experience told them that a clue would lie within the package.

Fugitive couple Holly and Josh, faced a new challenge as Ground Hunter Teams Charlie and Delta broke into their apartment. The undercover operation was a success, with Hunted getting their hands on a handwritten diary containing crucial information on contacts. Vicki from Team Cyber found a lead on a person named ‘Ally’ from the diary, and quickly deployed Ground Hunter’s to interrogate Ally, meanwhile Holly and Josh were headed towards a motel in Melbourne. When the motel demanded ID upon check in, Holly and Josh needed to pivot. Using a borrowed phone, the Fugitive couple tried calling Ally for help, but unsurprisingly Ally was too busy being interrogated by the ground Hunter’s to answer.

They then tried another contact, Narelle, who came through with the goods and picked them up. Not ready to give up on their lead, Hunted HQ placed a tracking device on Ally’s vehicle as a precaution.

Bayan and Eesha ventured outside the apartment for some fresh air, still oblivious to the fact that their burner phone had been under full intercept by the Hunter’s. Thinking it was safe, they connected to a free public WI-FI phone box and unknowingly alerted HQ to their location. Thrilled by the fugitives’ blunder, Hunter Team Alpha, Charlie, and Echo immediately raced to scour the 2km area. In a moment of pure excitement and horror, the Ground Hunters made eye contact with Bayan, and the chase of a lifetime began. Would the hunters catch their prey, or would the fugitives slip away once again?

Pairs Split Under Pressure.

Hunted. Captured: Bayan and Eesha, Western Australia.

In tonight’s episode of Hunted, Bayan and Eesha made a fatal mistake which ultimately led to their capture. Ed and Jimi took a major risk with an ATM heist, Tharren and Jordan remained off the grid, while Holly and Josh made the strategic decision to split once they realised their contacts had been compromised.

All resources were focused on Bayan and Eesha as the Hunters circled the streets of Richmond. Bayan had made a fateful mistake by stepping outside their apartment, and the chase was on. Hunter teams Alpha, Charlie, and Echo all cornered Bayan into an apartment complex. Barricaded inside while Eesha hid, Bayan finally realised he had no-where to run. His time on the run was officially over. Handing himself in, he tried to deter the Hunters by claiming Eesha had already left, but the Hunters soon found Eesha hidden under the bed.

Low on cash, Ed and Jimi, decided to borrow their friend Linda’s car for a risky ATM withdrawal. As soon as Ed made the transaction, Hunted HQ were alerted to their location and the race was on, with Ed and Jimi escaping in the nick of time. Not accepting defeat, Hunted Cyber and Intelligence teams discovered a new lead through CCTV… Linda’s blue car. Linking the car back to Craig and Linda, they raced to their home. Unfortunately for the Hunters, they yet again missed Ed and Jimi, who had already left with Linda to plan their next hideout. Later, Jimi decided to split and leave Ed, who was feeling vulnerable and emotional about being without his partner in crime.

With a mere four days to go until extraction, Fugitive couple Holly and Josh felt like their time on the run had brought them closer together. Meanwhile, back at HQ, the determined Hunters had a laser focus on the loved-up couple, sending all Ground Hunter units to approach their close contacts one by one. Staking out a remote campsite, Holly and Josh were planning to refuel and recharge with Ally’s help, unaware that the Hunters already had their eyes on her. Using a stranger’s phone to call Ally, they were shocked and bewildered to learn that the Hunters had already paid her a visit. This was all the information Hunted HQ needed to pinpoint the Fugitives’ location, immediately dispatching Hunted ground teams and a sniffer dog to the campsite.

Realising Ally’s compromise, Josh suggested a quick split, and so the lovers parted ways. Ally arrived at the campsite just before the Hunters, and Josh left with her to travel towards Geelong, in an attempt to lead the Hunters as far away from Holly as possible, who was now on foot and alone. But after speaking to some fellow campers, Hunted Team Bravo were given the heads up that Holly wasn’t far, and a race to find Holly was on. Will they capture Holly, or will this newly single Fugitive find a way to escape?

Six Fugitives remain on the run as Hunted continues Sunday night at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.

I recognise the BP service station where Ed withdrew cash from the ATM. It’s located at the intersection of Blackburn Road and Highbury Road in Glen Waverley - that part is also known as Tally-Ho. Ed also walked down Blackburn Road to Syndal shopping precinct looking for an ATM, to no avail.

Normally each team was allocated a covert camera operator. If the team decided to split up (as was the case in tonight’s episode), where would the extra camera operator come from?

Wouldn’t the current one call for backup and get another sent down?

Josh and Ally were in a quite remote campsite. Even if their current camera operator called for a backup straight away, another one would take time to get there.

I’m sure the teams have more than one camera operator with them, given the various camera angles often seen at any point it would be more than one would be able to capture.

Pretty clear it’s a format point that 3-4 days out from the endgame the teams are permitted to split so production will allocate those previously allocated to other teams.

Is it 12 episodes rather than 10 then if it doesn’t finish till Tuesday? That very much felt like the penultimate episode setting up the finale.
