Hubbl

Got a text message from Binge on Thursday and then from Kayo on Friday offering me a $49.50 (half price) Hubbl device. Took multiple tries to order because the site just didn’t seem to process but it finally went through after a hundred or so tries on Saturday afternoon. Now waiting for it to arrive today to have a play! Looking forward to having the Binge and Kayo channels in the main channel list something which was great in Kodi before with addons but then got broken.

I’m a binge subscriber and I’d probably buy one at the discounted rate if offered too

Yeah, hopefully you get a text. It certainly is why I got it and then I’ll do the stack and save thing too.

If anyone’s still struggling to stop videos rather than pause, the back button is your friend.
My problem was I kept using the Home button.

Same here !
Also fixed my aspect ratio issue .yay.

Checked junk folders ?

Did Hubbl mention that no matter what Binge plan you buy, you’ll be served ads and a channel watermark when you watch on demand?

Turns out the Xumo range of devices (TV and Box) are from the same family as Hubbl - their app list is large (and includes an interesting one in Plex)

I daresay it’s the US equivalent of Hubbl & SkyGlass/SkyStream (UK). Same OS & Comcast (half of Xumo) is the parent company of Sky.

There’s also a website about Entertaiment OS

https://www.entertainmentosbaseline.com/

i wonder if there will be anyway to sideload apps

I’d love to be able to sideload apps - Plex and TiviMate for starters to be able to load IPTV lists.

Have used the Hubbl for a couple of days now and have certainly watched a lot more of the Binge channels than I used to by being able to go through and see the guide which was the main reason I wanted it.

I’ve found though that the whole website and accounts thing seems to be really flaky. When ordering it took me several tries and then when changing my account subscriptions it took several tries and ten when changing things in the Hubbl itself to view my account or change my postcode will always fail. I factory reset the Hubbl but it still has issues.

ive decided why not. if i dont like it i can take it back or sell it

Is that dirty and crooked fingernail in the photo on the box?

no its mine

Oops.

Let us know how you are going with it. I actually thought i was not going to like it, but its actually runs well now. Despite the hick up with the Ten NSW feed being the default in the channel list. I have investigated, but I can get the Ten Perth feed in the app.
But it does sign me out from time to time. Not sure why. It is an annoyance but nothing i can’t handle.

I wonder if a hard reset would actually might fix the little bugs, I am experiencing.
I noticed i also cant get ABC News channel to work in the channel list, and 9go seems to have its own not playing until after I flip over to 9gem and back to 9go again.

I tried that to fix my issues but it didn’t seem to. Overall I like mine but I want to see what it’s like when I have my antenna back hopefully tomorrow so I can get the local channels again.

My biggest issues with it:

  • Can’t set my postcode, it always comes up with an error. Looks like others have had it too but no fix.
  • Can’t set my region in 7plus, so the 7 feeds are the Sydney/NSW ones rather than Melbourne. I’m on Starlink and I assume it’s using the IP location which sets me as Sydney.
  • Same issue with 10play. I can change the setting to be Tasmania in that but it doesn’t seem to have changed it. Might try setting Victoria instead to see if that works.

i was able to set my postcode, and 7 and 9 were able to go to the local Perth feeds, however with 10, even though the EPG says 10 HD Perth, I seem to also get the NSW feed

loving Entertainment OS though, having the FTA feeds mixed in with Binge/FlashNews is good imo

What has it been like so far?
