$1145 for a very average 55 inch panel is a rip off.
You could get a TCL C755 55 inch on sale for a similar price and you’ll have access to the entire Google TV software and a much better panel.
“Our launch of the Hubbl service is still in its early days, but, encouragingly, more than 30 percent of Hubbl customers are new to Foxtel, which is significant, given our existing presence and profile in the Australian marketplace. About 75 percent of customers of the Hubbl aggregation service purchase an additional Foxtel product along with their device and subscription. On the broadcast side, ARPU grew 6 percent and churn was a pleasingly low 11.7 percent for the quarter. Foxtel continued to generate strong cash flow as we were able to monetise our long-term sports rights across multiple platforms.”
Got an email saying they’ve added Optus Sport. Anyone tried that on Hubbl yet?
Noticed it on mine yesterday and loaded it but didn’t login as I don’t have an account but looked like it will be ok.
Yeah, I don’t have an account either, thought someone might have tested it by now.
Not a great start, hooked it up to my account and went to watch something and the box froze. Was able to get it into standby and turn it on again, but now running very slowly.
Will have to powercycle
So that leaves Paramount+ as the only service ‘coming soon’ to Hubbl.
Odd that Foxtel has it but Hubbl doesn’t.
what’s odder is that it’s available on the Sky Stream/Glass in the UK (which runs the same OS as the Hubbl), but not Hubbl
Using Paramount+ with Sky | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com
Hubbl may have prioritised other apps first, and may be hamstrung with what is made available to them from the providers.
I’m sure locally Paramount ANZ are using different versions of the app as the US/UK too, they seem to roll out different features in different markets rather than in all markets they are in.
Sky also includes Paramount+ in their “Sky Cinema” pack. There’s also the whole Sky Showtime over much of Europe so they seem to a lot closer over there than Foxtel and Paramount here.
Paramount+ now available.
So that’s everyone now? All the streamers?
My Hubbl was flashing a white light this morning and when I turned it on - nothing. The website advises me that many people are having trouble with Hubbl at the moment.
“Nobody’s Hubbling”
my wife came in this morning and told me ours was doing the same. i have a spare since i got my hubbl glass so we swapped out and all was good. i was going to test tonight
edit: and the fully working spare has now crashed. makes me suspect a dodgy update
It’s a global issue apparently.
Yep Sky Stream and Glass down too
The lack of news and the continuing boot loop is really making me think that something big has happened and it might not be an easy fix. It doesn’t seem to be getting far at all with things and if it is just simply that it can’t connect to a site then hopefully that will fix it but if it’s really a bad software update and they can’t boot far enough to get a fix then this could be a huge issue for Hubbl and could kill it off if people need to exchange or send theirs back to be fixed.
i bloody hope not. the 55" glass is heavy and i don’t desire moving it
Yeah, hopefully there’s a way that technical people can fix themselves if it is that bad by downloading to a USB or something and loading it.
