oh, i didnt realise they had an ad tier now
Yeah, they quietly put ads on their SD tier (although they upgraded it to HD at least)
Setup a Hubbl box last night without an antenna. And while it was tedious to login to all five FTA apps, once logged in it was so easy to flick between FTA channels via streaming. Plus a remote that actually has channel numbers on it.
Itâs impressive for this alone, especially for cases where it might not be easy to setup an antenna and you have elderly relatives who just want to watch FTA.
Glad its working . Have to re sign into ten app every couple weeks. I still am getting NSW Ten instead of Perth. I have checked the location settings in the app itseld and its set to WA.
Does anyone know if Hubbl supports using network-supplied FTA via HDHomeRun?
No it doesnt
Thatâs a shame, thanks bacco.
I realised Iâm on a 2 month freebie with Binge (thanks to paying for Kayo) so I signed up for the free Hubbl.
The set up was painless and very easy. The pre populated information was great. For me though, I like to record and series link the news and other FTA shows and also shows on UKTV so Hubbl doesnât really compare with my Fetch box.
Which is a shame as the remote (as others have mentioned) is much better and the interface is fantastic.
Rumours around that Hubbl has been hacked.
Hopefully they fix the sppllng
Yes, trying to see if Iâve got an email too about that.
Iâd just be happy if they fixed their billing and the OS issues. Thankfully itâs only been minor so I havenât bothered but it is a bit unpolished.
It looks like sadly this may be true. I donât have the email but it is back up in the group and it is legit.
I havenât got an email yet but hereâs a snippet of it that was posted to Imgur.
(Source: https://imgur.com/W4yLr8z)
The email is interesting. Itâs essentially saying that previously leaked credentials from other services were then used to access Hubbl accounts. Is that a data security incident from Hubblâs end, or just poor cybersecurity of its users? Why specifically between those dates, would this not be an ongoing issue?
Good to send emails about this sort of thing and get people thinking about cybersecurity. Maybe they should look to sending emails everytime your Hubbl account is logged into like Netflix and others do.
I havenât got an email either, maybe itâs only being sent to users they believe were affected?
Further edit: Their email makes it sound like their initial âcredential stuffingâ attacks from earlier this year. Why did that not warrant an email but this one does? And why were credit card details not accessed last time, but this time they were? I hate to sound a bit conspiratorial, but it might be a bit deeper than what Hubbl are letting on?
This statement in Mumbrella says that credit card details are âmanaged off-platformâ. If I log into Kayo or Binge and go to account settings (which redirects to Hubbl), I can only see the last four digits of my card and the expiry in my payment details. They canât do much with those details. Would be curious to see the rest of the email being sent out, but just based on that screenshot the email doesnât make much sense.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but something else I noticed digging around on the Hubbl account manager website is you can âstack and saveâ your subscriptions (the Foxtel-owned ones plus Netflix) without even needing a Hubbl device. Shame Disney Plus isnât eligible though.
Great, another change of every password. Got the email earlier. Ugh im ditching the foxtel owned stuff now.
Ill wait for Max next year.
While youâre at it pick a password manager and use a unique, randomised password for every account you have. Never worry about a compromised password again.
And if you can, switch your phone service to an eSIM and ditch your physical SIM card. Itâs too easy to get around 2FA by stealing somebodyâs SIM card and putting it in another phone to pick up their text messages.
I know ur taking the piss out of me but ur not wrong.
I was clearly being sarcastic
Wasnât clear to me, apologies.
But still - anybody not using unique, randomised passwords in this day and age is an idiot.
I agree. I use lastpass and it works well
