Two teams identified in the article: homeowners James and Courtney, and Shayn and Carly. It also said filming officially got underway on October 29, two weeks ago. Even if interior renovations are completed this week, it will still be longer than the seven day period boasted by the show.
Doing a bit of a Google search, I found that the house is at number 5 in the street, while just down the street at number 11 is a TX Australia monopole housing the Ferntree Gully television transmitters and it doubles as a Telstra, Optus and Vodafone mobile phone tower. I donât know whether that is a plus or a negative for the House Rules block.
Spotted a wrapped car in Smith St Collingwood, so looks like theyâre still filming, teamâs name was Tommy and Lisa.
I assume there is another house in Victoria being renovated?
Filming for interior renovation stage doesnât finish until around late February / early March.
A couple of the team cars have been spotted around Canberra this week. Apparently theyâre doing a house at Gundaroo, a small town about half an hour to the north.
Edit: teams were Mikaela & Eliza, Pete & Courtney, Lisa & Andy, Tim & Matt, and Shayn(?) and Carly. Not my photo:
Pete and Courtneyâs car was spotted on Kwinana Freeway through Perthâs southern suburbs last December.
Also, Century 21 announced on its Instagram also in December that it would be a sponsor of the new season. I assume it replaces Purplebricks which provided valuation of houses pre and post-interior renovation last season.
Looks like as the car was going down south as it traverses past Aubin Grove Train Station, that opened in April 2017.
As is standard on this forum Iâve been beaten to the punch and with a better photo too, spotted this car on Wednesday last week driving into the Canberra CBD, presumably towards their hotel, at around 11pm.
I even joked with someone that they wonât be doing a house in the ACT as Canberra is generally excluded from all reality shows, besides the two times we had entrants on MKR, I recall both times the local teams were the first or almost the first to go, so naturally when I spotted a House Rules car I could only assume it would be a home just over the border and it seems Iâm correct as per the post above.
First promo aired tonight during My Kitchen Rules, mostly featuring Jamie Durie. His comment that terraces and apartments would be renovated should make the new season interesting viewing. Jamie is joined by Wendy and Laurence and this seasonâs teams towards the end of the promo.
Meanwhile, last yearâs season 6 is currently on air in Finnish online video service Ruutu.
Australia: Our homes are changing and so is HOUSE RULES.
This year itâs not just houses; itâs terraces, apartments and even a warehouse.
HOUSE RULES - 2019 - where innovation meets renovation.
Sounds like The Block.
The screencap above shows Jamie in the dining room with a Sydney CBD backdrop. The promo aired in Melbourne last night had the city in the background.
First team for the new season introduced: the surfie sisters. Looks like the Home Base had a makeover based on the promo aired tonight during My Kitchen Rules. And the camera angle is different too with the teams on left of screen and the judges on the right.
Brand new HOUSE RULES
What this family went through, will really touch your heart. Left with almost nothing, their mum has to start again. Are these surfie sisters ready for this ride?
Coming soon to Channel Seven
I donât get the direction that they are taking the show this season. The promo just leaves me confused. It has always been about everyday people having their own homes renovated. It looks like this season that is not the case?
Itâs like the same affair with MKR.
Initial idea: Real People, Real food/renovation
After the premiere: Bitching couple yelling at another couple while being backstabbed by another
Itâs become boring and predictable.
They still seem to be trying the whole emotional struggling backstory line with the first contestants in the promo. Iâm referring to the house concept, not the couples. From the promo I can only think itâs people who have bought properties that havenât been renovated (e.g. the church/apartments?). Or has the show purchased properties and with the teams renovating to give one to the winner (which would make it more like the Block).
I havenât watched Seven lately so Iâm not too familiar with the promo. Judging from what youâre saying though, it sounds like the show slowly but surely moving in the direction of The Block, with auctions and renovation of a new property and stuff.
Promo for second team aired tonight during MKR: âchippie brothersâ from Melbourne.
More chippie brothers.
