Glad you liked it. I had a fun day filming it and enjoyed having a bit of a laugh with Eddie. I knew I was a very remote chance of winning any money so just tried to make the most of my moment.
Well done to Sophia who won $250k in the end!! Two nights of massive money in a row!!
Quite silly of Nine to promote a week of big winners. No incentive to watch after this week because the audience now knows the big money winner shows all aired in the same week.
The format of this show annoys me. One person can do all the hard work early on and a contestant can come along towards the end and reap the benefits with a few lucky guesses.
Yeah it would also be nicer if they almost just played them in a natural order as filmed. But as we saw with Million Dollar Minute it can be a problem is the $1 million goes off on a Friday.
Well Iâm quite sure that any possible âMillion Dollar Episodeâ for Hot Seat wonât be airing on a Friday, since Nine now airs repeated episodes (you can usually tell by the fact that theyâre not in native HD, some may even be from the pre-2015 relaunch) of the show that day.
Tonightâs episode was filmed recently - one of the contestants said that he has been playing Pokemon Go for the past week, so Iâm guessing July 12 or 13.
(Based on the fact that Pokemon Go was launched on July 6th and Hot Seat records on Tuesday and Wednesday in either the first or second week of the month).
As far as Iâm aware, all contestants at the start of each Hot Seat episode are playing for $1 Million!
But since itâs the first time that a contestant has actually won âthe big oneâ on Hot Seat, can you really blame Nine for milking it for all itâs worth? Needless to sayâŚ
*The promos for the âMillion Dollar Episodeâ will be running on a very high rotation over the weekend, especially during the NRL and The Block on Sunday night.
*Hot Seat will probably get some of itâs biggest ratings in ages on Monday, with a decent flow-on effect to Nine News as well.
*From a different perspective, thereâs probably more than a half decent chance of the Goggleboxers watching Hot Seatâs âMillion Dollar Episodeâ on Monday night along with the reviews being featured in an upcoming episode of Gogglebox!
The big week of winners was this week, not next week! And Nine revealing that someone wins the $1 million would be the same as Ten revealing who wins Survivor and MasterChef before the winner announcements.
It was filmed the same day as my episode - July 20.
Yeah about a month sounds right. Johnno made mention of his upcoming appearance the week after that date on his radio show. There were also the two weeks of rpts during the Olympics too.

They film 8 in a day. I stayed for 7 and had to leave early. Would be funny if the $1 million went off for the episode I missed.
If that happens I would be totally pissed off if I were you. To be there all that time during the taping and then to have to up and leave just as âhistory is madeâ.
I thought about it some more and I think Nine has totally butchered the way they have handled the win tomorrow night. They have basically told us who wins and even what question they answer it on, according to an article on TV Tonight.
If they had to tell us that the million goes off they should have kept all other details about the episode secret. Particularly who of the 6 contestants wins it.
Itâs almost too much info that a lot of people wonât even bother watching now.
HOT Seat producers have hit back at claims tonightâs first ever million dollar win is a publicity stunt by Channel 9 to reclaim viewers from its ratings-winning Seven rival, The Chase Australia.
Gold Coast viewers would normally be the first the know the outcome of tonightâs game - but in this case, we not only know who won, how much he won, but the questions he was asked - unbelievable.
Hereâs a question worth pondering with the âMillion Dollar Episodeâ airing tonight: How long it will be until Nine finally pulls the pin on Hot Seat?
Call me crazy if you must, but it is well worth remembering that the original version of Millionaire and Sevenâs Million Dollar Minute were axed not exactly a long time after âthe big oneâ went off on both programs which were going through a ratings decline at the time. With both that and declining ratings for Hot Seat up against The Chase Australia on Seven, surely Nine must be starting to think about life after Hot Seat?
