Home and Away

Quite a different Seven Productions end tag on tonight’s episode but still using the same dreadful theme music. They made it out that the train was quite way away from Yabbie Creek yet Cash and the new police officer guy who’s name escapes me managed make their way there and are handling the operation from a police prospective that just does not happen in the real world. But this is TV.

The full length version of the opening titles aired tonight which is unusual as it only ever aired on Thursday’s last year. Could we be seeing them every night this year?

His name would be Sergeant David Langham

Yeah you’d think the local authorities would handle it - But nah let’s send Cash, David & the entire Yabbke Creek Police Force 300km west. I’m sure Mangrove River can handle 2 towns (If Mangrove River hasn’t been burned to the ground by the River Boys yet…)

I would have thought it would make better TV with them all stressing back at Summer bay with Cash and the new Sargent trying to get there but their management not allowing it.

I doubt that they would continue with a longer starting sequence given that for the last 10 or so years they have been trying to maximise as many viewers as possible hense the short to the point starting sequence and shows starting with no Ids in between so if you aren’t paying attention you don’t notice that the next show has started. Not that this was a problem 30 years ago, I quite liked credits and longer starting sequences and even when they used to have a voice over advertising the next show over the top of the credits at least the back of house staff got credits for their work which does not happen now. Seven doing a longer sequence occasionally is a good compromise I’d like to see if it affects retention significantly in a lot of cases it does not.

But they need to get someone decent singing the theme song as the current one sounds terrible.

March also sees Home & Away‘s Brax (Stephen Peacocke) and Ricky(Bonnie Sveen) return in WA-based episodes.

“Their characters will be longer than that, but we will be in Perth on air for that period],” Hall explains. “It was a huge effort for the production team, producing 230 episodes of a drama every year, ripping some of their cast and crew to go to the other side of Australia… it’s like travelling the whole size of Europe, moving our crew over there, and going to from rural WA to the city of Perth to the beaches but it’s come up really well….. a bit of desert, a bit of sun, we’re really excited.”

Once a River Boy, always a River Boy

Brax and Ricky return to Home and Away soon

A decade after their bittersweet departure from Summer Bay, beloved fan-favourites Brax (Stephen Peacocke) and Ricky (Bonnie Sveen) are about to make their highly-anticipated return to Home and Away, in history-making episodes coming soon to Seven and 7plus.

The on-screen romance between Brax and Ricky remains one of Home and Away’s most iconic storylines, leaving fans holding out hope for a return since the pair drove off into the sunset 10 years ago.

Soon the question of where life has taken one of Summer Bay’s most treasured couples will be answered in spectacular style, as Home and Away goes where it’s never gone before: across the stunning landscapes of Western Australia.

Filming last October from Perth to the rugged, red outback and along the awe-inspiring Coral Coast, these special episodes were produced in partnership with Tourism Western Australia.

A world away from his surfer days in Summer Bay, Brax is now working on a remote cattle station deep in the outback. Brax, Ricky and their son Casey (Austin Cutcliffe) have quietly built a whole new life in hiding, far-removed from the chaos they left behind.

But the peaceful existence they’ve managed to maintain is about to come to an abrupt end, when a crisis from the Bay finds its way to Brax’s doorstep.

While Ricky sees danger in jeopardising the trouble-free life they’ve worked so hard to protect, Brax finds himself torn between keeping his family safe and his loyalty to his River Boy brothers.

Will the call of the River Boys bring their picture-perfect outback life crashing down?

Once a River Boy, always a River Boy.

Brax and Ricky are back for Home and Away’s Western Australia event, coming soon to Seven and 7plus.

He certainly likes his co stars

Stephen Peacocke in TV Week. He and Bonnie Sveen are on this week’s cover.

How long is Brax (Stephen Peacocke) going to be on the show for? I understand the hype (aka the ads) for his return. But is it one of those things that he is on the show for 2-3 episodes, then dissapears?

I believe the agreement with Tourism Western Australia is for one week, and apparently there’s shots of them at Summer Bay.

I would assume maybe 1 week? Max 2 weeks.

Brax and Ricky’s Home and Away return starts Monday

Summer Bay favourites return in epic Western Australia event

It’s finally here: Brax (Stephen Peacocke) and Ricky (Bonnie Sveen) make their highly anticipated return to Home and Away 7.00pm Monday, 9 March at on Seven and 7plus.

A decade on from their departure, the beloved characters return for history-making episodes as Home and Away goes where it’s never gone before: the stunning landscapes of Western Australia.

A world away from his surfer days in Summer Bay, Brax is now working on a remote cattle station deep in the WA outback. Brax, Ricky and their son Casey (Austin Cutcliffe) have quietly built a whole new life for themselves, far removed from the chaos they left behind.

Their peaceful existence comes to an abrupt end when a desperate Tane (Ethan Browne) – framed for a crime he didn’t commit – travels to WA in the hope that Brax can help him disappear.

But when police launch a nationwide manhunt for Tane, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Harbouring a fugitive could lead authorities straight to them and threaten the perfect life they’ve spent years building.

Will Brax and Ricky risk everything to take Tane in?

Production took place last October across some of Western Australia’s most spectacular locations, including Elizabeth Quay in central Perth, Bullara Station near Exmouth, and in the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area – featuring the idyllic coastal town of Coral Bay, and the dramatic landscapes of Charles Knife Canyon, Yardie Creek, Turquoise Bay and Shot Hole Canyon in Cape Range National Park. These landmark episodes were made in partnership with Tourism Western Australia.

Tune in for the event Australia has been waiting for. Brax and Ricky are back 7.00pm Monday, 9 March on Seven and 7plus.
