The biggest week since the last big week.
Just another week in Summer Bay.
I guess both H&A and Neighbours come up with outrageous storylines in an attempt to keep viewers interested. I don’t blame them because they both need to fill 10-11 months of content and can’t constantly rely on love triangles and divorces. I recall years ago there was a cyclone/tornado in Ramsay Street. Unlikely, yes, but viewers tuned in so it achieved its goal.

It’s not unusual to have tornadoes in that part of the world?
Both Shortland Street and Home and Away have a Harper and a Mali (pronounced the same ,… Shortland St the kid is Marley)
We had the guest character Andrew … Shortland St has a Drew though not sure if his character name is Andrew.
Also Shortland St has an Esther ,… and we had the leader of the cult named Esther on Home and Away
We also had a Kahu Parata on Home and Away and a Rahu Parata on Shortland St Also was another Kahu guest on Shortland St too.
Just coincidences right?

Also wonder where that police station for Mangrove River is … looks like an actual building not a set .

Of course they are coincidences.
Neighbours have often had regular characters with the same names as those on Home and Away.
Both shows have a Mackenzie which started around the same time. Both have a Remi although one is male and the other is female.
Probably better to avoid using the same name but often it’s a coincidence. Storylines and new characters can be planned and filmed for up to a year before hitting screens.

Also Home and Away is filmed 6 months prior to going to air, while for Neighbours it’s around 3-4 months, which means that it would be impossible to prevent these stuff from happening.
Neighbours is five to six months too now.
They film five episodes per week and only screen four. This lets them take more breaks throughout the year now. They take fours weeks in summer, two weeks midwinter, plus a break at Easter and in October.

Ada Nicodemou is on the cover of Stellar magazine inside News Corp papers this Sunday.
UPDATE: Ada confirmed in the interview that she and James Stewart are dating.
“Jimmy and I are together, yes. It’s only early days,” Nicodemou said.
“It’s very recent and very unexpected. I’m super happy. It’s really lovely.”
The captivating pair have known each other since 1998, when they filmed Australian drama Breakers, playing characters Alex and Fiona.

Hailey Pinto will make her acting debut on Home and Away, playing Abigail Fowler, the sister of Eden and Levi.
I get that it’s horrible to be called that but honestly Dan, what do you want from putting this out there? Sometimes I think it’s that action that’s worse than the first one.

I’ve heard of Dan Bennett, and I apologise if he’s part of Media Spy, but I can’t see that he’s helping himself by putting his comment out in public. He may not like a particular production/show but I would’ve thought that in such a fickle industry it would’ve been better to keep his thoughts to himself. Nicholas Cartwright hasn’t helped himself by writing such a graphic reply however he didn’t start this and it appears he was only defending his show.

Well, yeah, that is another angle. It’s a bit disappointing from Dan really. He’s in the industry. Why shit on one of the very few Australian dramas in production? It didn’t warrant that reply from Nick of course but I can understand Nick’s frustration at the post.
Dan has always been pretty vocal online about his thoughts on the show, not sure his direct comments were warranted on this occasion.
I also would have though for a producer who is trying to get his own production company and commissions off the ground, it wouldn’t do him any favours to be creating drama elsewhere… surely he’s got enough on his plate than to be attempting feuds with other industry folk.

My thoughts exactly. H&A and Neighbours produce around 200 episodes per year and have both been in production for over 35 years so obviously they’re not going to be the same high standard as productions with only 6-10 episodes.
I agree that it was unnecessary for Dan to call out like that, but it’s equally not a great look for Nicholas to be using such foul language.
Perhaps people just don’t like being called a “c*nt” in their PMs and feel truth is something the world desperately needs more of…
Maybe he was just being a cunt ![]()
