I’m not completely against the idea of that but the problem is Nine’s Sunday shows are very strong and would crush Home and Away in the ratings, which can be detrimental to their 7.30 and later slots. Seven needs to have a major tentpole at 7pm on Sunday to be competitive with Nine.
The next best solution would be to return it to Fridays (and air it on 7TWO in the AFL states during the AFL season).
Really good episode last night. Well written, and will tie up a few loose ends over the next few weeks, presumably linked with an end of season cliffhanger.
Makes sense, either that or Wednesday 16th December so it finishes right before cricket.
Worth remembering that there’s still about approx. 40 episodes to be aired for this season (230 eps in a normal season and we’ve only seen roughly 190 episodes to date).
It was also confirmed too that the production team caught up and managed to film all the episodes so we should be getting the normal 230.
That’s a late finish for Home and away. But with the stoppage from covid earlier in the year, and the crickwt in a few weeks time, i guess tbere is no other option but air it on 30 December (as 90 minutes).
If its 230 episodes a year, is there a bare minimum of episodes they have to run on Seven per year?
It wasn’t really “confirmed” by a Seven source or anything, it was just cast and crew commenting on Instagram that they had caught up in filming and were on track.
On another note in regards to the 230 episodes, perhaps it’s more to do with filming 230 episodes a year as opposed to putting 230 episodes to air?
According to the fan site Back to the Bay, Monday 30th November is indeed the season final:
QUOTE:
The 2020 season of Home and Away will draw to a close in Australia on Monday 30th November, with a three part episode from 7pm.
While the date hasn’t been officially confirmed by Seven, listings for that week show a 3-part episode on Monday with no episodes scheduled for the rest of the week, making us pretty certain that it’s the date for the 2020 season finale.
It would leave the 2020 season significantly shorter than previous years, with a total of 205 episodes airing.
The EPG has a total of 203 episodes to be shown by next Monday (episode 201 at 7pm, followed by episode 202 at 7.30pm and episode 203 at 8pm). So which one is right?
I think it’s because we started off the season in January with a triple episode on the Monday night, so instead of coding that as episode 1, 2 and 3 of this season, they may have just coded it as one single episode (that ran for 90 mins of course).
Luke Arnold (INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, Black Sails) has joined the soap in as recurring character, nurse Lewis Hayes. His first appearance is the season finale next Monday, November 30.

The Parata brothers (Rob Kipa-Williams, Ethan Browne) find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Will a decision they make change their lives forever?
Could a heated moment with Tane (Ethan Browne) spell the end for lovers Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Dean (Patrick O’Connor)?
Will a chance encounter for Jasmine (Sam Frost) with old friend Lewis (Luke Arnold) bring some light into her life?
Alf (Ray Meagher) is suspicious when a ghost from the past shows up, while cop Colby’s (Tim Franklin) life-threatening secret is exposed in prison.
Will there be a happily ever after for doctors Tori (Penny McNamee) and Christian (Ditch Davey)?
Following on from this, this season is much shorter so I think I’m right. According to this article, a season normally has 230 episodes. After Monday the 2020 season will have 205 episodes.
