NHK World:
My point exactly, I’m curious to see how far behind 10 falls from the other two for not having coverage on the main channel. Nice to see people enjoying HYBPA and the other variety 10 have.
I was watching the full coverage of the Queen Funeral service via SBS and noticed that they have various feeds from different cameras - Hyde Park, London, Edinburgh, Christchurch, etc.
That’s from the BBC.
When did CNBC have this? I didn’t see them have any thing
Viewers cringe at Nine’s funeral gaffe:
Whoops. Nine’s Peter Overton and Tracy Grimshaw suffered an awkward gaffe as they covered the arrivals at the Queen’s funeral.
Bit over the top don’t you think? Over 5 FTA stations plus here in Brisbane anyway the ABC, ARN and Nova stations.
I applaud 10 for keeping their normal programming tonight. Fantastic.
5 minutes ago when I took the capture.
Some international news channels already starting to talk over the ending:
Absolutely not. Once in a lifetime historical event. Her Majesty absolutely deserves this.
Those who aren’t interested can continue regular programming on their usual streamers.
Or just go to the other 17 multichannels that aren’t showing it.
If you’re a serious news organisation this is a definitive broadcast for your brand.
It’s the exact same program on each channel. It’s overkill. As well as the amount of radio stations carrying it too.
If 10 must have alternative programming on their main channel, that’s fine. Even Channels 4 & 5 in the UK aren’t covering it.
Comedy themed programming though is a bit tacky to me being a solemn and historic occasion, should have shifted all of those to another night (especially Just For Laughs and the Montreal Comedy Festival).
Agreed. I’m watching the funeral but even if I wasn’t I wouldn’t be watching HYBPA til tomorrow. Just feels inappropriate.
He explained why the other night… because they cannot always see the vision he can. Angela doesn’t draw a breath …
I won’t lie - would be nice to have seen UK networks switch their own cameras instead of taking one big pool, but I guess the bandwidth would not be possible for something as big as this.
Even Denise tweeted today how she found it extraordinary the show was airing.

The Queen being laid to rest is the very definition of breaking news. A major event in world history. No different to if another Gulf War or 9/11 were to occur. They’d all be carrying it. You would’ve lost your mind 25 years ago when four out of the five broadcast channels were carrying Diana’s funeral. You would’ve had to settle for SBS or what was left on the shelf at Blockbuster.
