This year has made me wonder what the next type of show will be a true hit. Is the days when 2 million for a regular episode over or can a show achieve that again? And if so what type?

I think television viewing is way too splintered now.
Apart from big event reality shows where you need to tune in live to see the result or risk spoilers, people are timeshifting or streaming their viewing and this will most likely be happening more and more.
