they used to run “best bits” from all their stations on the network (well Syd, Bris, Mel) at 6pm a few years ago.
I think it might be a “seat warmer” for something else soon.

Another day and another story about 2DayFM wanting to lure Kyle and Jackie O back to SCA:
This one describes the Rove and Sam show as “a flop formula” and says that SCA is willing to pay both Kyle and Jackie $10 million each to return to 1041. There is also mention of Rove and Sam being “duds”.
The fact that there are already rumblings about Rove and Sam in the 2DayFM corridors comes down to one thing - and one thing only - the show sounds awful. And SCA know it.
Mark, there’s too many rumours about this now. I’d say management at 2Day FM really do want them back. I have a feeling they will go back with all this money being thrown at them.
or that Kyle knows that negotiation period is about to start with ARN and he wants to make them sweat bullets and offer more money?

Southern Cross Austereo have released a statement this afternoon saying that today’s Daily Telegraph story on a rumoured offer to “Kyle & Jackie O” is not correct.
“SCA is strongly committed to its new breakfast show on 2DAY FM and we look forward to many great years ahead with Rove & Sam. They are a perfect fit for our positive culture and team environment. SCA is not in discussions with Kyle and Jackie O to return to 2DAY FM, or any other station in the Hit Network”.

Just like they were committed to the first two shows. Where are Merrick, Sophie, Jules, Dan and Maz now? They will be gone by 2017 whether they admit it now or not.

Weren’t Dan & Maz supposed to be on 2DayFM breakfast “for many years to come” as well?
Of course SCA isn’t going to publically say that they’re anything less than committed to Rove & Sam after only two months or so (excluding the Xmas/New Year break) on air and one full ratings survey. Whether or not they’ll say something similar if 2DayFM’s ratings continue to tank remains to be seen.
They are. Just on weekends now!

Exactly, these rumors being circulated at the moment are coming from either Kyle and/or SCA wanting ARN to pay a lot to renew Kyle & Jackie O’s contracts. After everything that has happened, it would be humiliating^ for SCA if they brought the duo back to 2Day because of the messages it would send about their strategy and the past few years.
^ Yes they’re already being humiliated due to 2Day’s position in the ratings but bringing back a show which caused more controversy than warranted isn’t the answer

I can’t imagine they’d want to bring back a show that nearly cost them their FM license, and forced them to run on a 30 second delay with a full time censor.
I also can’t imagine Kyle would return to a network he so famously loathes.

“Let me just go on record saying, ‘I would never go back to Austereo even if they gave me the radio station’,” said Kyle.
“If they said, ‘Here, you own it now,’ I would say, ‘No thanks’.”
Jackie O added that the pair hasn’t even received an offer from Southern Cross Austereo, let alone an outrageous $10 million fee.
“I haven’t had any contact from them,” she said.
Confirmation that The Scoopla Show has officially been axed, with Hamish & Andy taking the 6-7pm hour with highlights from the first 2 hours that viewers may have missed (yawn).
Jules Lund has been moved into a more ‘strategic role’ while Emma Freedman is confirmed to take up the role of co-host of a new nightly show with Angus O’Laughlin as well as hosting Take 40 on Saturdays.
Studio 10 entertainment reporter Craig Bennett also reported that Emma Freedman’s promotion to newsreader for the H&A show has also been canned, thankfully.
On paper that sounds a good idea, meaning people can tune into Nova, KIIS or other radio stations between 4pm and 6pm, then turn the dial to Hamish & Andy at 6pm and they will not miss much. But how will the boys introduce the segments that they have done earlier? Will the podcast cover the third hour? If H&A go on a trip and broadcast live from a location, will they have live content between 6pm and 7pm?
The more I think about the Deja Vu hour, the more I like the idea. Initially it does sound boring to repeat content that was aired only about 2 hours ago, but the reality is that very few people would listen to the radio for the whole 4-7pm period. The majority who are listening at 4pm would be switching off to watch TV and/or have dinner by about 6, while the majority who are listening at 6pm have probably finished work later, so would have missed at least the first hour of the show.
Also, as mentioned above, it allows people to tune in to Hamish and Andy after listening to Nova or KIIS - increasing the chance that the radio will already be on a Hit station the next morning.
The brain washing has worked. This is the theory hey use to repeat the same music every two hours. The problem is that people that would listen for the whole day switch off. I used to listen to the radio all day but after breakfast and before drive, I now turn to my ipod/phone because their incessant repeats piss me off.
Do you how annoying it is when you go for a drive, get out of your car for lunch or recreation and then on the drive back start hearing the exact same stuff again? This is bullshit!
